You should know what happened at the cricket cause you said you would be there and not at ravendale.

I just want to congratulate the PLCA on a great day yesterday. A well organized day and credit must go to Andy Page, Bluey, the curator and the grand tasman hotel who put in all that piss and food for $0 so all the money can go to charity.
The pitch played well after receiving a lot of critisism on here and for those people who do play cricket and didnt support the day you missed a great days entertainment and are pathetic.
The game was one sided but wasn't it great to watch Weeeks and Ludeman hit with the wind and then Weeks bowl later down wind  .
Again PLCA ....Well done

As for ravendale BP..... let it die of slow death

All in all it weasn't a good day weather wise anywhere yesterday and may even have been better at Ravendale than Centenary with the direction the wind was coming from.
Went to both events yesty.
The footy was played in very trying windy conditions for the lads which hampered the skills somewhat. So that was disappointing. Couldn't fault the intensity overall and a couple of lads stood out. Didn't know a lot of the lads so will obviously leave some out but from those I knew the best were Hully and Keeley. Ben Daniels looked really good early. Pity I couldn't lay my hands on a program with the names. Port Adelaide heirarchy were there in force and I am an unabashed fan of their effort and commitment to EP junior footy. They played 6 quarters and the interchange bench was constantly moving so everyone got a decent hitout. The crowd was down on what I thought might turn up but a lot sat in cars I suppose so probably more than you would think.

Cricket was entertaining and the PA boys were way to classy for EP.
The general consensus from those sitting around where I was that no-one would want to face Weeks. 130-135 kph. Poor young Mitch didn't know what was coming at him in those first couple of overs and he couldn't even get bat on ball. But he survived where everybody else failed and hats off to him - most impressive over the course of our innings. Classiest shot of the day to Smithy and then that was him for the day - next ball walkies which I was disappointed for him and me as I thought we needed him in to have any chance.
Classiest catch of the day to the PA fella who took a high, one handed screamer at full stretch in the outfield - you couldn't help but applaud.

Enjoyed the day - footy and cricket on the same day :D :o  :)

A great day of cricket at Centenary just a pity some our best were split between footy and cricket commitments
some of our juniors are just brilliant. Just one thing stop bagging Ravendale it was bloody sh@# at centenary
nobodies fault just the weather !! if you are a true sports follower then you would realise we need two areas were
sport can be played eg yesterday both areas need money spent and thats just going to take time :)

I went to both football and cricket - great day at both - pity about the wind - some of the skills of those young footballers was outstanding, conditions considered....very well umpired as well :)

cricketers just purely outclassed, and i'm not expert, far from it, but the fielding of EP was outstanding...

A few things did bother me on the day. I can agree with the 'set up' of the toss as we all wanted PACC to bat first but how Daniel Lee could bat after Larwood and OBrien is mind boggling.
Opening with Mitchell was a bad mistake and to say he was the most impressive is absurd as he couldnt get bat on ball and at least the other batsmen were good enough to 'snick' them. Spinner should have bowled into the wind or was he protecting his figures?

What number did Lee bat? Did he get amongst the runs?

Come to think of it, did anyone get amongst the runs?

Some quality there. dunno how horgs let that happen.

Back to tasmans, we have done very well to recruit some outstanding young talent from the NT, Two lads with the last name Hancock, 17 and 15 i believe, both have played underage state footy for NT and one of them is a member of the AIS squad, :D Their step father is coaching our u/15's
