Eagle played for Torrens Valley, not Maccy and I’m guessing a big fat envelope got him there!

Surprised with TV's current position on the ladder. Bad kicking accounted for a rare loss to Gum, Birdwood going better than most pundits had them and the comp pretty even again.

Torrens Valley is a surprise at the moment. They looked as though recruited well to add to what wasn't a bad team from last year.

Shaping up as a pretty even comp with Birdwood and Kersbrook seemingly having improved.

After playing finals last year TV are sitting on the bottom at 0-6, but with an average losing margin of only 21 points.

Some quick number crunching would suggest they’ve been outscored 43 goals to 24 in second halves. Not fit enough?

Should be a good clash at Macclesfield for the hosts against Meadows today.
A must win for Macclesfield if they have any hope of playing finals.

Comes down to the final round and Maccy can still make it. Have to win their final game against Kangarilla and hope the Brookers take care of Meadows.
Top 3 locked in already. Gum still top, and the resurgence of Birdwood and Kersbrook will see them meet in next weeks Qualifying Final. Hills Country GF 2024 to be played at Macclesfield.

No one will beat Gumeracha this year, they haven't been close to full strength and are still winning comfortably.

What happened to Meadows this year? Thought they were really shaping up to challenge Gum at the start of the year.

Guessing Gum and Birdwood have played in Elimination Finals, but when was the last time they played each other in such a meaningful final, or even a GF? Have they ever played each other in a Hills GF or does it go back to the Torrens Valley days?

Think Gum and Birdwood did a knock out Semi in the 90s from memory. But don't think there has ever been a GF between them (Gum were down for a long time, before their recent run). Not sure it will be this year either as think Kangarilla will win Saturday.

Jack James from Kangarilla S/C Medal Winner and Austin Millbank from Meadows won the J/C Medal last night.

1975 G/F at the old Mt Pleasant Oval - Birdwood 15-10 d Gumeracha 12-8.
Birdwood beat Gums in the B grade that year as well.

Awesome Thank you

Was the old Mount Pleasant oval where the bowling green and tennis courts are?

Do you have any more info, 1/4 scores or reports/stories, or know where I could find them?

Yes old oval was next to Talunga Pk road, probably a little further on. The old toilets still standing near the new house.
Old Courier 3/91975 pg 20 has the report/scores but file to big to download on this site.
State library certainly has a copy but need to bring up to the reading room or perhaps Mt Barker library local section may have one.

Maccy Footy Club did a good job hosting Saturday's GF even with the Hills weather not being perfect.

Junior Colts GF went to script as Kersbrook went Back to Back over Torrens Valley. Jacob Westley picking up the BOG Medal and ended up with 3 medals for the day.

Senior Colts provided the biggest upset of the day. After being trounced 13 goals to 1 in the Semi Final, Kersbrook retuned back and defeated Kangarilla by 15 points. Josh McCard BOG

B Grade: Nearly a carbon copy of last years GF, with Gumeracha running over the elderly Kersbrook crew. Matt Redden BOG

A Grade: A 3peat for Gumeracha. Unlike their previous Grand Finals, the Magpies flexed their muscles early and put Kangarilla away despite the skippys reducing the margin to 20 points. Another medal for Sam Hanna, this time the Norm Smith.

Kersbrook to old to slow, clearly showed in the second half.
