Absolutely. The media drive this, how many "unnamed sources" could we create that have said they no longer support Abbott?

I love a good unnamed source. Again the media with no accountability.

They're unnamed sources because they're being backgrounded by Lib MPs and staffers. Sometimes one or two reporters get excited about nothing but when it's a flood, and senior cabinet members are admitting things aren't right (whilst admittedly still supporting the PM), you know this wasn't made up.

Big Joe today demanding the banks pass on the full cut.

I get it. The economic growth slowed in the last 1/4 but good luck with demanding much from the banks.

Just for he record the Commonwealth and Westpac have passed on the cut in full.

Certainly nothing new in ambiguous attribution of quotes, such as "unnamed sources" or, for example, Ministers insisting that journos attribute their quotes to "sources close to the Minister".

We'd hear about a fair bit less without these arrangements or understandings. If there is any accountability debt, it's not on the ledger of the media.

Rudd was accused of micro-management

Peta Credlin appears to be the same way

imagine if Credlin was the Chief of Staff to Rudd
Matty Wade is a star and deserves more respect from the forum family!

.....given this Dubbya-esque sound-bite gem from our beloved "captain", I don't think any of us are in danger of burning out from political information overload any time soon.

There is a possibility that this could be Abbott's last weekend. As much as i want to see himm gone, i wan't to get the opportunity to vote him out....

WA Liberal MP Luke Simpkins is going to move a spill motion against Tony Abbott and it will be seconded by fellow WA Lib MP Don Randall.

Can it happen any earlier than Tuesday?
I don't particularly care if Abbott is in or out, but it'd be good to get it over and done with so that the government can get on with governing.

PS: I hear Phil Harper is so bullish about Tex Walker's leadership and skills, he's preparing a press release to say he'd be a good PM ;)

Lol to the second paragraph.

Perhaps the Lib's can explain to the Bombers how to dispose of an unwanted leader and we can move on from both?
