Annastacia Palaszczuk resigns.

Seems to be the trend now, Premiers resigning mid-term.

After QLD pollies just got a pay increase yesterday that is backdated to earlier this year :)

Good riddance to her but think QLD re in for some pain as the new leader is an absolute flog and almost unelectable and the opposition are a pathetic rabble who should be unelectable.
Think they want change up there so the Libs will get in barring them stuffing up as usual

been a tough six months for her - verbally assaulted on a fun run in Alice in June.

Former Richmond Football Joel Bowden would've be counting the numbers in the last few days. Nicole Manison likely replacement but is a tad ironic given South 32 shares relate to the mine on Groote Eylandt (no roots on Groote) where her old man was 2IC copper in the early to mid 80s.

Barnaby Joyce, the gift that keeps on giving …

https://www.news.com.au/national/politi ... 037364cdf1

Barnaby Joyce’s wife Vikki Campion explains bizarre video of Barnaby Joyce

A bizarre video showing Barnaby Joyce saying “dead f**king c***” while laying on a footpath has emerged, with his wife weighing in.

Barnaby Joyce’s wife has broken her silence after her husband was found lying on a footpath mumbling into his phone after dark in Canberra.
The former deputy prime minister has declared he is ashamed and “embarrassed” after video emerged where he appears slightly tired and emotional.

The shock incident involving Mr Joyce occurred close to an apartment he owns in Braddon where the mother of his children Vikki Campion was photographed five years ago while she was pregnant.

The bizarre footage, obtained by Daily Mail Australia, records the Nationals frontbencher lying on the footpath in Canberra late at night while mumbling “dead f**king c***” into his phone.

But his new wife Ms Campion, who confirmed he was on the phone with her at the time, said the harsh words were not directed at her.

“No I think he was calling himself one, he likes to self flagellate,” she told news.com.au.

Ms Campion said she was disappointed someone filmed the incident rather than render assistance.

“I’ve been with Barnaby when we have found a man in the same state on the street and rather than take a video and sell it to the media, he picked the guy up and took him home, we later found out there had been problems with his medication and if he hadn’t helped him back he could have been in a very bad situation,” she said.

“On another occasion he picked up a hospital patient who was walking around disoriented and took him back to the hospital.

Bob Katter & Andrew Wilkie dressed as pigs in Parliament

Katter is one different cat. Saw him a couple of years ago at Cairns airport, complete with cowboy hat and boots.

Coalition keep harping on the $275 the Government haven’t been able to deliver for energy relief about $5 a week saying people need it.

Coalition now complaining that the tax cuts do not give any real relief to families, about $15 a week per person so about $30 a week per family.

Which one is it?

Tasmanian state election, where to start …

The only State or Territory to use the Duckworth-Lewis system.

Obviously counting heads this year, elected members rise from 25 to 35, and now there’s a hung parliament,

Labor refuse to engage in coalition discussions with the Greens, so there goes any chance of gaining power.

Now the Liberals need to engage with the Lambie Network (akin to rooting your sister) or independents to form government.

So far, all good.

Imagine having to take orders from a fruitcake like Lambie.

It was in Labor’s best interests not to seek a minority government.

Allow the Libs to form Minority Government with JLN, and watch the world burn.

JLN is in reality a ticket of independents using the Lambie name to get elected.

They’ll start splitting amongst themselves in short time, and Lambie will be open her mouth to bag the Libs (she can’t help herself).

Throw in the bonus that conservatives will want Abetz to challenge for leadership at some stage, this Minority Government will collapse within two years.

All Labor has to do is lay low, play small target politics and the rest will look after itself, they will be in power with a majority before long

Eric Abetz, LOL. They deserve everything coming to them if they install that imbecile as leader.

Yes, TLN is group of misfits with only that name in common ... Lambie virtually admitted that when she was bagging the Libs, then in the same breath said that she won't have a say in whether her MPs decide to form a coalition with the Libs to form government.

Can't wait to see their demands.

Despite being right of centre in my politics I firmly believe that his, along with Kevin Andrews, Corey Bernardi and George Christensen's Mums should have swallowed.

Which would be highly ironic given she was the first to jump from Clive Palmers' bandwagon....

Lambie's political affiliation track record ...

Labor
Liberal
Independent
Palmer United
Independent

The only person I can think off the top of my head with a record like that is Kris Hanna here (Labor, Greens, Independent, SA Best, then out on his arse before landing as the Mayor of Marion). I hear he's not a tennis fan.
