Give it a rest, mate.

That's schoolboy stuff.

You're the one accusing me of playing the man? :o

JImmy, I've asked you for examples and you haven't supplied any.

You've admitted that you've played the man deliberately.

Having a different opinion isn't playing the man.

Anyway, neither of us have been sticking to the spirit of this forum, so how about we draw a line and start fresh?

I've heard of hysteria about this topic, but this is hard to believe - surely there is more to the story.
Baby shot in global warming 'suicide pact'.
A note found on a table in the family's home led authorities to suspect the deaths were the result of an apparent suicide pact brought on by concerns about global warming, according to the reports.

I'd be interested in the figures over a longer period, if anyone has access, to see if there is a pattern of fluctuations, as looking at an apparent correlation over a very short period doesn't prove much.
Between the late 1980s and 1992 I worked almost exclusively in SA as a WorkCover specialist and got a lot of referrals initiated by the unions.
I got the impression there was a surge in death rates in several industries during that time, but particularly in construction.
Unfortunately, I can't recall precisely when it was in that period..

Cheap Crikey subscriptions update. Supposedly it's looking like they'll get about 50 on board which would mean everyone would pay around less than half the normal rate.

http://clubtroppo.com.au/2010/02/26/cri ... -on-again/

The Crikey group sub prices are:

3-5 annual subscriptions: $105 each
6-9 annual subscriptions: $95 each
10-19 annual subscriptions: $85 each
20-49 annual subscriptions: $75 each
50+ annual subscriptions: $65 each

Hardly a surprise, "Intervention "psychologically damaging":

"It will leave a negative legacy on the psychological and social wellbeing, on the spirituality and cultural integrity of the prescribed communities''.

The doctors' association recommends compulsory income management be stopped immediately due to its "profound long-term negative impacts''.

The report suggests welfare payments should be quarantined only in cases of proven abuse or neglect - or if people choose to voluntarily "opt-in''.

The federal government is taking the opposite approach.

It's planning to extend income management to all disadvantaged areas of the Northern Territory and, eventually, Australia."

This one appears to have been pulled from this and several other sites, which suggests it may have lacked credibility.
[Unless, of course, you assume a right wing group of conspirators have suppressed it.. ;) ]

The "doctors' association" reference intrigues me.
There has been nothing about it in the mainstream medical literature lately.
So, the only "doctors' association" I can think of that might have made a comment would be the radical left "Doctors' Reform Society" known in the profession as the "Labor Doctors' Club".
Last time I checked, about 4 years ago, all its 30 odd member were also members of the ALP.
They are in the press a lot, spreading their propaganda, and pretending they are representative of the profession as a whole.

They're all communists I can feel it in my bones! Hang on I thought "ALP front groups" would be reluctant to come out and criticise the Labor government and ALP policy? Which proves they're doctors with morals and ethics so a hat tip to them for having the balls to do so.
