And, whether you use all of those facilities or not, they improve the amenity of your community, make it more liveable and make it more attractive to live there, providing a benefit to the value of your property.

Correct on all fronts DW!

Reminds me a bit of the people that don't want to pay for education or health care when they're either fully employed or have no health concerns.

We live in a *society* made up of *people* and when evaluating things like efficiency and value of local government services, one must consider the broader Social good.

I go back about 25 pages ...

What value do we put on a youth development program if it reduces suicide rates by 5%?

Once you controlled your data analysis for the concurrently running State Government Youth Mental Health Services, and other NGO programs that have a dependent impact on that "number", naturally....

Different programs with different focuses

One is specifically designed for health and is reactionary.
One is designed for engagement and is proactive.

Both are important.

What an overreaction.
Surely this bloke realises that local government is beyond reproach and shouldn't be troubled with little detail like this

Media stunt.

He previously voted for the same increases that he is now claiming is making his position untenable.

Hearing some scuttlebutt that Mayor Rosenberg might have received a vote of no confidence and is potentially out the door.

ONKAPARINGA Mayor Lorraine Rosenberg faces a vote of no confidence in the wake of ongoing criticism surrounding her council.

Councillor Robyn Holtham, with support of colleagues Bill Jamieson, Jonathan Deakin, Martin Bray and Peter Schulze, has called for a special meeting to “put Lorraine on notice”.

She said the meeting would likely go ahead next week.

etc, etc, etc

Can the elected members boot out the mayor?
The mayor is voted in by the residents not elected from within the members, so it seems strange that the members could have a mayor removed???

I wouldn’t think so but a “vote of no confidence” is not actually booting her out. It’s putting her on notice
Just like the threat of rate capping should be seen as putting the councils on notice that the golden goose of unlimited funds (& flouting even the suggestion of accountability) is in the spotlight.
The hubris shown by Rosenberg and her mates is similar to Weatherill & his cohort. ITS NOT YOUR MONEY

I wonder if there is a correlation between those Councillors and the Wards Mayor Rosenberg has publically declared should be almagamated for efficiency...

;)

Mayor Rosenberg was a MP for Kaurna from 93 to 97 for the..

Liberal Party.

Her political leanings would be much closer to Mr Marshall than Mr Weatherill.

All over a golf membership, an apple watch and some flowers.

And we want Councils to be less risk adverse?

Ridiculous
