Reminds me a bit of the people that don't want to pay for education or health care when they're either fully employed or have no health concerns.

We live in a *society* made up of *people* and when evaluating things like efficiency and value of local government services, one must consider the broader Social good.

One is specifically designed for health and is reactionary.
One is designed for engagement and is proactive.

Both are important.

The mayor is voted in by the residents not elected from within the members, so it seems strange that the members could have a mayor removed???

I wouldn’t think so but a “vote of no confidence” is not actually booting her out. It’s putting her on notice
Just like the threat of rate capping should be seen as putting the councils on notice that the golden goose of unlimited funds (& flouting even the suggestion of accountability) is in the spotlight.

Mayor Rosenberg was a MP for Kaurna from 93 to 97 for the..

Liberal Party.

Her political leanings would be much closer to Mr Marshall than Mr Weatherill.
