agreed ;) Like the survey done on the news today with a news reporter walking down the street asking the general walkers/public walking by should they be let back in and most said no.Maybe they were rent a crowd ? The principal of the school where these children were at school has said today "they are not welcomed back"..

Next you will say they are not "real people"

Really? Would make sense haha.

The article makes some good points though. Would rather they bring them back here and throw them in jail than just wash our hands of the problem

Just as Mallah has been working closely with ASIO for a few years, I'm sure the wife in this story would be more useful back here.

Bringing back suspected terrorists and trying them in our piss weak court system is a big risk. They get locked up for a couple of years, feign remorse and get paroled early for good behaviour.
Then once they're out its back to jihad.
I feel pretty shitty for the kids of this animal. They come back scarred for life with a massive chip on their shoulder looking for revenge.
Or, they grow up to be model citizens and great leaders in their community.
Which scenario is more likely is the question.

We are one of the most surveilled countries in the world. Whatever happens, they'll be watched closely for a long time.

You rather put all of the power into the hands of the minister instead? Why even have courts?

No...definetly not! I wouldn't trust any minister in this shambles of a government to get it right.
For this reason don't let them back! Harsh maybe, but they don't belong here anymore.

But they are proposing that a minister, rather than the courts, will have sole discretion as to who they let in.

And who is they? Kids? Wife? Someone else not actually convicted of a crime?

So Abbot the ABC are "betraying the nation"!!! something you do every day.

The ABC are an independent broadcaster and views from all should be on the table.
But Abbot wants to sensationalise another opportunity to save us from terror.

basically he is suggesting we shouldnt be critical of the government at all. So they may as well become a State broadcaster instead of just publicly funded.
