Abbott is digging his heals in, so it looks like the Libs have to blast him out if they've got the balls to do it.

I would be surprised if he was challenged because it takes them to the same level as Labour.

They'll chuck Bishop in like a lamb to the slaughter, then 6 months from the election Turnbull ( who I'm sure they actually want in charge ) will be ushered in.

The same level at the ALP? Like it matters, none of them can claim the higher ground.

Oh but they do. The libs always claim the higher ground. Whether they actually managed to take it is another matter entirely.

Still I cant see them changing the leader. Its only poles and a media beat up at the moment.

Im not sure Turnbull is popular enough inside the party room for him to get the top job despite his popularity amongst the voters

Different party and jurisdiction - but the same was said about Weatherill.

They take the U out of it and call themselves "Labor".
(That is at least true to the Latin spelling, but I doubt that's why they did it.)

The leadership issue at the moment only seems to have the legs in the media. A back benchers having there say but but I suspect the libs will ride this out for a bit. They have no meed to rush a decision because the next election is still some distance. If this is still an issue in say 6 - 9 months then perhaps we would see a bit of movement.

agree, though there may come a time where they think it is so bad that they have to change or there is no hope for them to win the next election, thats what happened with Gillard replacing Rudd, (not debating whether that was actually a smart move or not)

I personally don't think they will do anything until at least the next campaign, unless there is another big stuff up by Abbott. So could be tomorrow :D

I don't think so, pressure is a wonderful thing. This is the major focus of the media at the moment, and the Lib MPs are starting to crack.

Once something like this gets momentum, it's almost impossible to stop.

It wouldn't surprise me at all that something gives in the next few days.
