I'm sure the folks living in SA's west would love that. Most of SA is west of Adelaide.
Personally, I find our existing Summer time a pain - it is tolerable about this time of year but they start it too early and end it too late.
It's only a half hour change!

It is half an hour ahead of true local time in the west normally and 1.5 hours ahead of it right now.
The extra half hour makes that 1 hour and 2 hours..
We are on Warrnambool time before we move to Summer time.

Wow, and here I am thinking 30 mins = half hour!

For us afternoon people who struggle to get up before it is actually daylight it can make a fair difference until you reach mid-Summer.
Apart from that I think it would make more sense if the entire country adopted central zone time [GMT + 10]
That would also match major Asian centres like Tokyo.
[But I doubt anyone in WA would want to join in.]

That's why they call themselves 'The Honourable...' because being an MP was once
an honourary position.
But, of course, they still call themselves that.

But that's never going to happen is it? Well not in our children's lifetimes anyway, so lets adopt the Eastern Time so I don't have to watch Antique Roadshow, THEN the news and miss the first half hour of the cricket - for starters.

Neither of them are going to happen.
The split between those in SA who favour adopting mid-Tasman time and those would oppose it is too even.

you will never get consensus on changing time zones when we have pinheads in Queensland and WA worrying about fading their curtains. Of course it makes sense to re-jig this whole thing but - good luck to the reformists!
Caution! You are now entering the no-spin zone...

Most of the world uses their local zone time as a base, even if they do adopt some form of "daylight saving" in the Summer.
I'd like to see SA join them rather than use any form of altered time that is out of kilter with International standards..
