I wear the same jocks (now Speedos) until they pretty much fall apart, and always put right sock/left sock/right boot/left boot on in that order - If I'm rucking and wear shinguards they too go on in that order. Of course the obligatory nervous toilet trips occur, mostly because of water and weet-bix consumed that morning...

Always put my guernsey on only just before we run out too, and run out towards the front of the group but never first. I NEVER do is touch the ball during the on ground warm up. I think that was probably borne out of pure laziness when I was younger but I had a fair bit of success over the years and didn't want to change it up!

Coach the under 17 side.
At about the 10-minute mark of the last quarter get changed on the bench.
If it's close I might not get changed until after the game.
If it's a blowout then I might pop into the changerooms in the 4th Q briefly.
Certainly not ideal preparation!

i show up to the ground 80-90 mins early, rag the crap out of team mates and opposition for a bit. walk into the changerooms, abuse people for sitting in what used to be my spot. get changed, abuse people for looking at my beatiful body. get my calves and hammies rubbed (i too am getting old) abuse people for talking when im trying to sleep getting my rub down. then run out onto the ground and try and keep up with the rest of the team during warm up

Couple of Scotch & Cokes on the Friday night.

- Get to the ground between 12-12.15
- Head into the changerooms halfway through the third quarter of the two's
- Put shorts on, get shins and wrist strapped.
- Left sock, right sock, left boot, right boot.
- Gurnsey is always last, with a warm-up top over the top (mandatory)
- A casual kick on the ground at 3/4 time of the two's
- Always last one out of the rooms
- Touch the ground on the boundary line with both hands as I'm running on (don't know why)
- Take warm-up top off as I head to position before the siren

When I played in the A's it used to be arrive same time as B grade have to arrive and watch there warm up and have a bit of a walk around the oval and a few kicks.
Slowly stretch out after 1/4 time then get into the rooms and changed as soon as B's were out then put the club shirt back on until all the warm ups were done.
Lay down on one of the benches and close the eyes and just try and shut everything out till about 3/4 time then try and have 5 minutes just kicking the ball to myself and a bit of a walk if I can and that is it.
Now it is buy a beer at the start of the game, usually only have 3 or 4 then head home

I play amatuer soccer myself but my warmup is.

-Pack bag the night before
-get to ground as early as possible
-grab something to eat from canteen at half time of C Grade
-At half time of the B's on the pitch for a kick around, i go out there with the lads but never kick or touch the ball just talk rubbish to all of them
-half way through the B Grade second half head into changrooms.
-MANDATORY turn CD player on as loud as possible mainly we listen to tiesto, calvin harris, prodigy etc, etc
-show off our dance moves from the night before for the next ten minutes
-jocks, shin pads, socks, shorts on in that order, shirt does not go on until we walk onto pitch
-soak the hair before going onto ground (did it once in hot weather scored a hatrick done it everygame since. Add to that i wear my shorts backwards after coming of at full time in the same game realised i had my shorts back to front.
-pre game warm up, do as little as possible conserving all energy while making it look like im putting in effort
-first whistle, kick someone as early as possible to keep myself amped and on my toes.

LMFAO - Chuckling at that one.

Many moons ago mine was :

One or two cans of coke and a Balfours Pasty from the shop next to my house for the drive to the ground.
Listen to some sort of very quiet music, perhaps Metallica, Iron Maiden or the like.
Always early into the rooms and probably the first one to be kitted up ready to go.
Wander in and out of rooms, have a kick and mess around before the warm-up / stretch even began.
Very vocal in the rooms, I sort of am anyway.
Be one of the last out of the rooms.
PAFC. Forever.

LOOK OUT, WE'RE COMING!

Note to self - Never shake Duncs hand before a game
I love grapes. With grapes, you always get another chance. You know, if you have a crappy apple or a peach, you’re stuck with that crappy piece of fruit. If you have a crappy grape, no problem-just move on to the next. ‘Grapes: The Fruit of Hope.

Mine isn't very exciting.

- Wake up & Shower.
- Get dressed in my footy gear with jumper and track pants over the top
- Rock up with plenty of time
- Kick and a catch while talking about Friday nights adventures
- Get let thumb strapped and both calves rubbed down
- Remove track pants and jumper
- Walk around saying the common cliche's while others get ready.
- Go do warm ups & stretches

In a time long, long ago;
No breakfast, sipping water/weak cordial.
Put 2 teaspoons of Bi-Carbonate soda into a glass of water, drink about 3-4 hours before game time.
(Prevents cramp, no really, never had cramp doing this, used to get it all the time)
Get to ground before 1/4 time of the B's.
Get strapped, ankles and left thumb, before half time.
On the ground at half time for walk around.
Clothes on, no particular order, jacket/shirt over the top.
Rub to hammys/calves/back.
On the ground at 3/4 time for kick and a catch.
Never been a big believer in stretching heaps.
Listen to the coach.
Before entering the ground, touch the ground with both hands before white line.
Warm-up with jacket/shirt over the top, after huddle, give to young water boy with a smile!
