which sucks, was keen for a game in 2 weeks time

Hopefully they get on top of it and Community sport resumes before the two weeks are up.

Trader wrote:Certainly seems like that's the result.

No cricket for two weeks.

A lot of T20s were scheduled for tomorrow night.

I assume the next two weeks of saturday games will be called a draw, though the prof has suggested if they can ring it off quickly they might reduce the 2 weeks.
Can't see the turf making clubs pull together a team at short notice if the restrictions get lifted on say Thursday next week.
Given how quickly is was cancelled, all participants should be ready to resume just as quickly.

I recon if its a late announcement next week then the Turf will say games not on however clubs can do their own internal trial.
Just a guess.

Interestingly Grant Stevens indicated 2 weeks is the minimum, different to what Spurrier and Marshall were indicating.

Doubt we would have a sat sun comp, I think at this stage all 2 day games are to be postponed and replaced with 1day alternatives in the fixture until we can start playing again. Once it starts getting closer to finals and we run out of time for 1day games then I think points will start being shared (or not awarded)

Not Sat/Sun for the mens, but Saturday and Sunday fixtures, as the Mens on Saturday and the Women's and Juniors games on Sundays.

Calling it early but I am putting a line through all games this side of Christmas now. if it does happen what happens in the back end of the year ?
will there be relegation and promotion?
Do they just play 1 day cricket?

Agree we won't be back before Xmas.
This 6 day pause will work and eliminate the virus from the general population but its clear the powers that be are way too conservative and won't relax things back to 2 weeks ago with any sort of pace.

Games will be called draws, fixture after xmas will remain as is.
3 draws in an 11 game season is fine, we've had more previously.
Get some heat outs in Jan and Feb and things might get more interesting though!!!

Surely round 5 and 6 goes ahead before Xmas, even if they are both one dayers on 12th and 19th.

With restrictions easing on Dec 1 and 40 degrees this Saturday, just leave it till Dec 5!!

Big change since thursday!
Lockdown ended early, and the powers that be have basically said Dec 1 is our return to normal date.

ATCA on facebook told clubs to get ready for the T20 on December 1st.

Anyone know the details?

Fair to say it might have involved one side cheating their arses off and the Rockets standing up for themselves - Just a guess based on the many years of stories and history fair to say this is a short-priced favourite!!

MSCC entering the result as winning by forfeit - Spell me, please
It's now under dispute will be interesting to see how this one plays out

Anyone have an update on this one yet?

Surprised the league hasn't acted yet.

Really?

Come on Sir David, I'm not even involved in the comp and I can see what's going on here.

I would’ve awarded MSCC the forfeit - what other result do you expect them to give when one side walks off?

Regardless of the situation or circumstances, I’m sure there are more formal ways to lodge a report and deal with matters. Should’ve finished the game then put a report in.

I think if they were to have finished the game there would have been other issues that we would be talking about. All in all, they made the decision to walk off the ground which makes sense that the points were forfeited - What I don't think is comprehensible is that nothing comes from this. unfortunately, MSCC have a record & reputation as long as the M1 and shouldn't be in the comp anymore... just my 2 cents worth

According to mycricket the match is still 'in progress'.
Heyzer made the change back on the 16th and nothing has happened since.

Probably closer to the point that I was making, I've played in some pretty dirty days where I thought things were going to get pretty nasty.

We played against one team when it was heading south, I ended up walking out to talk to our batsmen and umpires, I called their captain over and their opening bowler who was mainly involved with the heated battles and tried to get everyone to cool their heels, shut up and get on with the game.

Their bowler then says to me "How about you go back and tell your missus to put her woodstock down and shove another needle in her eye", it didn't end well from there.
