haha knew id get a nibble, but with dodgy internet connections out here lately its been tough to get on here!

The top 2 look settled with Mypo and Monarto all but assured of finals cricket.

The battle for 3rd and 4th will be between Imps, Meningie and Karoonda. Imps and Karoonda have a tough run home whilst Meningie have a much easier run home. So effectively Meningie finish 3rd and Imps and Karoonda battle it out for 4th.

Thoughts???

Ha ha!! All in good fun!

Yep, Imps and Karoonda still to play too, could be effectively playing for fourth.

Would think Imps will beat Jervois this week. If Karoonda don't get over Mypo it will start to make things hard for Karoonda.... Will then be 2 games behind Imps plus percentage with 3 to play.

I see on the MTCA website the ladder has changed from the points based system to the percentage system that was voted on at the AGM. Probably Karoonda whinging after not getting much benefit from flogging Imps and Mypo the last two weeks ;) ;) ;)

Anyone got any thoughts?

It is the correct system IMHO as the old system heavily disadvantaged sides batting second and chasing a small total..... I know it is something we as a team have spoken about a lot during the season and has influenced a few decisions during the year..... With the old system you could afford to lose wickets chasing quick runs, with the percentage system wickets lost affect you.... With the old system against a weaker side you were better off batting first and making as many as possible and wickets lost didn't matter - with the change you are better off bowling first and bowling them out for a low score and then chasing them down losing as few wickets as possible.

The change hasn't affected any positions on the ladder, but it has made things tighter.

I think the change puts things in perspective a bit and really puts Monarto on the chopping block a bit. Could very well go from playing for top spot to missing out with the way the draw is. No one is safe now other than Mypo. With Mypo, Imps and Karoonda all playing each other in the last 3 games anything can happen.

So last finals spot comes down to Imps v Karoonda. Winner goes through. Has been a super end to the season with some really interesting matches. On current form youd have to back Karoonda to knock of Imps but it is one day cricket and on the day any game can go either way.

Karoonda certainly in sparkling form at the minute, and Imps have been struggling, but Imps will be back at full strength this week (bar Clay Leckie who has missed a fair percentage of the season anyway) for the first time since before Xmas so hopefully rediscover mid season form and would be nice pay back for last years GF defeat getting into the finals and ending Karoonda's season....

You would think the winner of the Imps/Karoonda game would almost be favourites for the flag too considering the form of Mypo - lost 4 on the trot now - Monarto's problems winning finals - and Meningie not in good form against the top sides either....

Looks like being a stinker on Saturday too, and even worse out at Karoonda... would be a disappointing end to the season if it was called off due to heat....

Bit early to be calling Imps / Karoonda the GF favourites. Agreed Karoonda are flying and have the best form coming into finals if they make it.

Wouldn't count Meningie out so early especially if we get a home final. Have knocked off Mypo, Monarto, Karoonda and before rain called off the match was 3/100 against Imps. A different side at home. Lack of finals experience would be the main worry.

Mypo can roll anyone for under a hundread with their bowling lineup and are due.

Monarto bat deep so I'd say it's all pretty open.

Totally agree it would be a shame if heat called off the last round but I think we should be right, fingers crossed.

Agreed a lot lies with Stewie however Boso is due and McNicol is making handy runs down the order. Only gotta get to 150 which is defendable.

Well done Karoonda lads. Very disciplined bowling effort and comfortable chase. Will be a tough ask for whoever is playing them next week.

Wow. Have to say im a little stunned by the result. It was the only way you were going to beat Karoonda by bowling first and getting them cheaply.

Congrats to Mypo.
