Rumours going around the Adelaide and Suburban Cricket Association is that after 3 premierships in a row (i think its 3?) that Cove are on the move to ASCA as of next year.
This seems to come up alot, but is this true? Bit more insight from the SCA boys would be good!!!!

This time every season for a while now that has come up.
Cove to Adelaide and Suburban, Happy Valley returning, Kangies off to GSCA.

A couple Cove lads come on these forums that might be able to let you know if it's ever been discussed or not.

It has definately been discussed as a group but in my opinion would only be worth doing if we were able to be in section 1 from the start

Well done to a Port Noarlunga boy. :D
Shaun Tanner named by Stingrays as their Cricketer Of The Year. Earlier in the night he won the One-Day Limited Over Cricketer Of The Year and then followed up with the big one.
Wasn't far down the list in SACA's Bradman Medal Count either. Well done to a massive cricketer.

What is the future of the SCA?

I notice Cove have made another approach to ASCA and if all good will join!

I have also heard Kangies looking at the Hills comp?

Where does this leave the SCA? One of the strongest comps in the past 25 years and in the fastest growing area in the state?

This is what i don't understand with the SCA. How is an area that has experienced so much growth in recent times and supports how many football clubs? not able to support a cricket competition with an equal or similar amount of cricket sides.

I know there is a fairly large crossover with ASCA with southern area clubs, Morphy Pks, ICC etc but surely there are enough people in the southern area to support a SCA.

Is the way the association has been run in recent times a reason for its current predicament? (I am not suggesting it is as i have no idea who or how it has been run either)

I can't see why clubs from South of Hallet Cove would want to travel to Nth Haven for cricket.

Surely getting a decent local competition is a priority of the southern based clubs? And a couple of clubs leaving the SCA now would surely ruin the prospect of this even further. I would have thought the SCA would be trying hard to recruit clubs like ICC and Sheidow Pk, who both field 6 sides in ASCA, into the SCA.

It would be impossible for SCA to take these clubs because where are they going to put 6 sides? 2 in each grade?

It would have to be bad management, when i was playing up there it was a huge comp, it cant just fall away at the rapid rate it has done and no-one in charge notice it...
