That makes Sturt, Northerns and Adelaide looking?

What's a ball park figure that a senior coach would be on?

$7k to $12k I reckon

Though I did hear one club offering significantly higher for a playing coach role! $25k which is obscene for grade cricket

I heard on the weekend that at the Northern's presentation night a senior club person was handing out envelopes with cash to SOME players, not match payments.
I am told those that got it wondered why, and those that didn't are annoyed - what this space.

All grade clubs use ACA money to improve standards by paying for both coaches and players who have previous first class experience. The scheme has helped all grade clubs to keep first class players involved in the game which was one of the key principles identified in the Argus report. This allows each club to then pay an extra $10k to players/coaches with first class experience. For a Sydney first grade coach this may then possibly mean that they receive $60k, $50k from the club and $10k from ACA. I would guess that Adelaide clubs would be paying somewhere between $15k and $25k including ACA money. When you have SANFL clubs paying coaches upwards of $70k it makes you realise how out of touch cricket funding in Adelaide is or that there needs to be a restructure of the competition to enable your better people to be remunerated properly.

That is 100% true..... I'm unsure of the players that didn't receive any money but I know for a fact that there was money handed out to certain individuals. I know that one of the players who received money played every game of A grade this year at the club was told that if he left he would have to pay twice the amount to be cleared....

The senior club person you talk of is the cricket director at the club who has taken up a new consulting business and i know that there are players ho think he may not return.

Being brutally honest here but that club looks to almost be on its last legs. Which is terribly sad after the heights that they were (Salisbury DCC and then throughout the mid 2000's with Manou, Harris & Lehmann.)

Oh you mean like an 8 team comp or something? What a great idea that would be
If there is only a certain amount to go round it makes sense to spread it amongst less clubs

Team #4 Sturt

Finished 10th, 11th, 4th, 10th. Juniors had both 16's teams finish mid table and 14's both top.

Need
To get some results. Their batting line up was one of the most damaging in all of the comp last season, behind only Woodville in the runs made column. The blues took 90 wickets for the year and and with the other three teams I've gone through they round out the sub-100 wickets group. No surprises these teams are at the foot of the table when they can't bowl sides out. The men in blue desperately need someone ot take the place of Stu Clarring-Bould who went missing this season, a hamstring injury and bad run of form has him struggling and with that so did the Sturt bowling line up. Rumour is Simon Roberts is done as well, a huge blow to every aspect of their game.

Have Spoken/Should Speak To
Bowlers, same as the past 3 clubs. Josh Pengelley is one who could be worth talking to. Bats 10 and bowls minimal overs but has genuine pace and will be a good player in a couple years, Sturt can offer the opportunity he isn't getting at the Buffs. Hasn't been much floating around about Sturt though so they may have things in the works, they generally pull a player across once a year.

Key Next Season
Youth & a new coach. Dick, Dudley, and O'Connell are all quality players and the immediate future of the club will depend on their success. Alex Gregory will also be crucial, he's out of contract next season so it remains to be seen if he gets a new deal or not, if not you'd hope he can stay fit (for once) and bowl plenty of overs to stick it to the higher ups. Add his bowling to the mix and they will take 10-12 more wickets for the year. It's also worth mentioning the strength of the Sturt junior teams and how well run their programs are, they will produce good players over time (Brad Young's boys look the goods). They also need to sort their coaching situation out. I'm not sure if anything has been officially announced but the senior players don't expect Peter Judd to continue. Young may be able to slide into the role, he already works with the juniors and would be a great club coach IMO.

Rumour has it Jacob Dick won't be at Sturt.

Josh Pengelley not getting opportunity? Picked in a grade that best suited his development to start the season, spent part of it injured, national carnivals and eventually performed and went up....

Brad Young would be great as coach at Sturt.

Has it been confirmed that Glenelg are looking for a coach? Peter Muggleton is outstanding. Would be a shame to lose him. They've got Ben Higgins helping with their juniors. He'd be absolutely brilliant as a club coach.

Have Adelaide lost both their club coach and A Grade coach?
