Apparently they told themselves they could beat the rain and tried to chase the low total quickly, only to lose wickets even quicker.

I got told the rain came before they batted, and went on on a wet one after. No covers went on before the rain - probably shouldn't have continued on.

That too would make sense. Either way, it's certainly shaping the ladder.

Grange batted first and made 126. Pitch was fine and there were no interruptions during their innings. There was a shower of rain during the innings break and a little bit of rain got on the pitch before it was covered, but it had minimal impact on the pitch condition at the start of the innings. Just some poor batting and running netween wickets by Ingle Farm and good bowling supported by some excellent fielding by Grange. There were a further two stoppages during the innings and after each stoppage the pitch had a little bit more in it, but nothing to justify being bowled out for 49.

Tracks hard as a cat's head.
This rain might put a little back into it for the bowlers though but only a little.
Otherwise it's a 300 wicket if you bat half decent.

What an awesome innings from Jye Bailey. 174 took the game away from IF.

Long over due for a quality player.

Ingle Farm couldn't of had a worse start to the premiership defense, struggling to find consistency it seems.

Mean while Hope Valley pushed Para Hills the whole way, a hard fought win for my boys, the Hornets. SPOC beating PAOC was a surprise leaving PAOC in serious trouble, but the real story was the collapse by Port Districts Vs Marion after seemingly having the chase in the bag. Still had 3 wickets in hand needing 12, at one stage I believe they managed about 15 runs off a span of 18 overs, digging a giant hole. Expect them to bounce back and really take it up the PH in a few weeks time how ever.

it only ever takes him or hanson to get going and its game over.

i didn't realise port collapsed that bad at the end of the day. that would have been a tough beat for them. seeing SPOC, PAOC and Farmers below is a very odd thing. top of the table para hills just rolling along as they do. Woody south, TOS, Port rounding out the 4 but very tight to 8th still.

Mention to Stef Lainas on the weekend taking 7/55 against grange and bowling 28 straight.

Port Districts bounce back with a big win over Para Hills.
Ladder all very close in A1s. Very interesting after Xmas.
A2s Reynella keep getting the job done and Flinders Park a very Dangerous side.

How many balls did it take Hiscock to blast his ton? Edit: just saw it was 52 balls and 11 sixes.

How about A3 Goodwood hitting 416 in 64 overs and having Trinity 3 down at stumps.

it was a painful day for both teams. we are very short this game so a few boys coming up or helping out.

Hiscock will give me nightmares. his hitting is the cleanest in the comp and i dont think it mattered where we bowled it went.
the last 9 overs brought 100 runs and the last 4 probably saw 60. pitch was low and slow and he just hit sixes when he wished. super impressive to watch (even if i was hating at the time.)

Payne played a spectacular innings, outside of one leading edge early didn't give a single chance until his dismissal, was shocked to hear it was his first ton for Goodwood, next best was 20.

A tough chase but hopefully we have some batters that can do the hard work like he did, I'm tipping Trav Wordsworth to go big

Brilliant chase by Hope Valley against Pt Districts. Gives them a little breathing space in 4th.
Ingle Farm with an outright gives them a sniff in the back half of the season.
PAOC puts a real dent in Woody South finals hopes. But it proves that the comp is unbelievably even this season.
A Few outrights in A2s, odd decision by Flinders Park to bat again with a first innings lead of 180 and not even try.

Missed outright by a wicket didn't they?

Checking both score cards, Looks like SPOC only had 10?
