Probably a tad too good for A2's though ;)

So what players have they picked up to make them think they will be competitive in A1 reserves? Huge jump from A2's

Gradings have now been finalized.

Mallala will enter A1 reserves for the 1st time which is a great achievment by them considering where they have come from in just 2 years.
Congratulations also to Gawler Central on being promoted to A1 Reserves to eliminate a bye in that grade

Freeling also promoted from A3 to A2 to eliminate a bye in that grade
So we have the following numbers of teams
A1-8
A1 Reserves- 8
A2-8
A3-6
A4-10
A5-6

Looks like a good result for all concerned - no byes. Good to see 8 sides in the A1R, will be a fairly competetive grade now I would have thought. Hopefully all clubs can get good numbers out this season for all their teams (I know it can be tough filling lower grades).

Days - have you got the breakdown of the sides in the 1's, A1R, 2's and 3's handy?

As far as I can tell based on earlier nominations, its:

A1:
Angaston, Freeling, Gawler Centrals, Gilbert Valley, Kapunda, Light Pass, South Gawler, Sandy Creek
A1R:
Eudunda, Gawler Centrals, Greenock, Lyndoch, Mallala, Tanunda, Truro, Nuriootpa
A2:
Kapunda, South Gawler, Tanunda, Nuriootpa, Sandy Creek, Freeling
A3:
Angaston, Gawler Centrals, Greenock, Gilbert Valley, Light Pass, Lyndoch, Sandy Creek

* As far as I can see theres only 6 in 2's ?
* Has someone gone down from 3's to 4's ?

Light Pass still in the 3's? Thought they may have gone up as they dominated in that grade last year (except the GF of course).

The B&LCA would like to add another team to the competition to bring us to an even 16 clubs across the association.
The ultimate aim would be to have 8 first eleven clubs in each of the A1 and A1 Reserves comp.
There is promotion and relegation between the two grades.

A club within an hours travelling distance would be suitable.
The association is one of the few that is increasing in size and participation in country SA. This season will see 45 senior teams and 47 junior teams participate.
There is 4 grades of mixed 2 day and one day cricket and 2 grades of an excluseively one day comp.
Juniors are catered for at U10, U12, U14 and U16 level.

If any clubs are interested please PM me.
Any interest will be handled confidentially.

Elimination of the bye in A3s would have been nice given the two day cricket played in that grade.

I think a bigger concern is the lack of sides playing in the A2's, seems several clubs are happy to be big fish and not test themselves against other B grade sides. Should be 8 sides in the A2's, if there is only 5 or 6 sides in A3's then so be it.
Need to be making the A2's better before we worry about if there are byes in A3's, 6 sides in the A2's is a joke

I see Morgan has entered the comp, 1 team playing in the A5's.
Be interesting to see if they can work their way up the grades.
Would make a decent road trip
