Don't believe so. Matt currently back working in NZ, not sure if he is back for cricket season or not. Expect Maurie to be at Ingle Farm

Pretty disgusted to hear of a grade club trying to move in on a community clubs second oval.
If they get their way it would be devastating for the community club as they would have to drop two senior teams from four.

Which Oval?

Has the district club picked up more teams? Why the need for a new oval all of a sudden?

Correct heater. They didn't want it before we came into the comp.
The block was pretty ordinary so we spent a bunch of time and money getting it back to playable again.
Now after us putting money into it for ten years they want it.

So, does the College make the final decision on who they hire it to? Surely they won't just cave in to a request from Southern Districts and the current lessee would get some sort of preference.

Where did their juniors play last year? Why can't they keep playing there?

They have played their Under 16 and 14's at O'Sullivan Beach School, two hard wickets next to each other. They are the only club now without a Turf wicket for their Under 16 team. Up to Woodcroft college to stick to their guns now.

Adelaide got shafted off a turf wicket by a hard wicket club 2 years ago, not all above board when the club is bankrolled by someone with plenty of cash and a player was a staff member was able to provide commercial in confidence information and out bid the incumbent club.

The ground the juniors played on is also the home to South Adelaide soccer club who want to rip up half the oval and have a synthetic pitch laid down

What grades play at Christies Beach high?

Aren't there two ovals at Woodcroft College? Maybe a hard wicket ground there too?

Would be a great way for the college to get a 2nd turf deck. Get Southern Districts and SACA to pay for it. Grade club should also apply for a Rec & Sport grant. Curating equipment is already there obviously. Turf club keeps its ground. Good result for all.

So Southern Districts should enquire about turning that other ground into a turf square.

Or bugger off to another location and do what we did. Not move in on someone else's hard work!
We use the hard wicket for OUR juniors.
They've had 25 odd years to organise another turf deck.
Great way to foster a good relationship with an important community club in their zone.

YOUR juniors don't play on Saturday afternoons when Southerns would need it

You'd actually end up getting another turf ground for your juniors to play on that someone else would pay for. Sweet deal for your club and the school.
