I know its only early but the newly promoted sides seem a fair bit off the pace at moment.

Already a gap has opened top 4 unbeaten bottom 4 winless, may see gawler central push up and compete for a finals spot but i think the other 3 are a fair way off.

In fairness to the 2 promoted teams we have played both now and both of them applied themselves well with the bat and dint throw their wickets away. Both just lack a bit with the ball. at this stage they certainly look a little better than the teams that were relegated

Yes even better than Kapunda, the times i saw kapunda they made no more than 120 and didnt value their wickets at all. They may not have the natural ability of kapunda lads but they have alot more heart than some of them

Days

I've just checked out the stats and see that Kapunda are one of the more successful teams in the last 5 years.

Where as Angaston haven't had their name on to many shields or even played in to many final series.

As for valuing their wickets - when was the last time you made a valuable contribution with the bat or showed a bit of pride in your wicket or even made a score ?

I see the newly promoted teams must be pretty strong if your even taking wickets against them.

I've checked the stats as well:
days took 3 wickets against each of the 'relegated' sides last from year as well. As well as a couple of the A1 finalists - so I'm not sure what that has to do with anything. Perhaps days is performing a little better with the ball than you would care to admit.

With 4 or 5 former SA country players in their line-up it would be surprising if Kapunda weren't one of the stronger sides over the past 5 years. But the undisputed fact of the matter is, Kapunda were NOT one of the strongest performing sides last year, and prior to last year, all clubs had agreed to a new competition structure (which most agree is an improvement).

Its true that their final points position was only a game and a bit out of the top 4 last season, but that was similar for at least one of the relegated sides the season before.

I doubt Kapunda will be the last of the 'big town' clubs to suffer a bad year and get relegated .... but perhaps this threat hanging over them is the motivation that some of the big town clubs need.

I have accepted im no longer a batsman, and stepped aside for younger blokes to throw the willow, something your club could do well to follow and move on all the names that havnt performed in the last year that got u to where u are now.
Im a bowler mate any runs i get are a bonus maybe you should check the bowling stats from last year.
Enjoy your year in the 2's! hope it doesnt turn into more than a year ;)
Could be a long stay given your clubs disregard for juniors over the last 10 years
