Any results from yesterday's association game?
Also, Lower North v Clare in the Twenty20 grand final this Friday night under lights in Clare.
Should be a good one.
If LN can come in full strength, they would be hard to beat.

Rained out in timely circumstances if you were playing for Lower North.

LN finished 9/80-odd off 20 overs on a slow but not THAT slow Clare outfield, young left-arm spinner Tom Forrest claiming 5/8 from four overs.
Rain in the final overs of the LN innings made the outfield slippery and conditions really suited Clare, Matt Vandeleur hitting a four and a six of the first two balls of the Clare innings.
Half-way through the third over, Clare on 17, the rain settled in and play was eventually abandoned.

Lower North then defeated Blyth Kybunga fairly easily at Balaklava on Sautrday, Todd McPharlin run out for 98 in the 45th over.
He was dropped on the first ball he faced, so he could consider himself fairly lucky.

We're two games in, not much talk on here yet.

Lower North went 2-0 from two matches with a good win over Clare Combined at Balaklava on Saturday.

I think the smokey this year will be Long Plains after recruiting Brad Jones from Lower North.

Brinkworth also picked up Kane Steele from Sevenhill, which gives the Gold Caps every chance as well.

Longies will be hoping to improve on their 4th place last season. Had a good win Saturday over auburn with Dallas hill making 100 no and jmac fresh from a stint at district cricket with woodville making 87 no and taking 4 fa.
Lower north to only get stronger with their best 2 players still to come back in.

I was already in the team MC.

LN were without Cowan, Higgs, Darling and Rowland.
Darling will be overseas for most of the 1st half of this season I think.
Higgs is reaping, Cowan managing Viterra at Bowmans. Rowland's shoulder is still bodge.
So, it could be a long year for the Buffalos.

Do you blokes throw any decent cash around?

I've hit 121* followed by a 96 in the PDCA.

Heard that the Twenty20 carnival on Sunday was a disaster. One side did't turn up and one allegedly played an early game then p1ssed off for a long lunch leaving their opponent in suspenders? Who will host 2013, or will it be shafted due to lack of interest?

It's the Country Homes statewide comp I reckon.
What happened was, Lower North smacked Burra, so it finished a bit earlier. With the next game starting at 12.30pm, we went into Clare to get some lunch. It was about 11.45am at the time I reckon. Gilbert Valley was supposed to play Laura at 12.30pm. Some of the Lower North team were back at Sevenhill by 1pm. We were supposed to play the winner of Laura v Gilbert Valley but they were still a no-show. Apparently someone at SACA hadn't told Gilbert Valley it was on. So we played Laura, smacked them and left.

At the poor turnout, or the GV no-show, or the lack of a competitive hit out? Or was lunch too short?

Lunch was fine.
The GV no-show was disappointing. We regularly play in front of no-one anyway, so the crowd of 10 people wasn't bad. The venue was great.

As a GV cricketer and committee member I'd firstly like to apologize for the mix up.. I must add tho this was not our fault as we weren't informed about any 20/20 cricket.. I believe SACA is at fault and some phone calls will be made ASAP
