Crikey, we kicked 9 goals in the last quarter and were still outscored by 2!:shock:

The following is the average points per team per match this year in each grade:

League - 92.0 points (96.7 points if you don't include the round of torrential rain)
Reserves - 84.5 points (89.6 points)
Under 19s - 85.7 points (93.4 points)
Under 17s - 96.2 points (101.1 points)

Under 17s is where it's at.8)

Whew all credit to the North boys. When was the last time a seniors team more than doubled their score in the last 1/4 and still lost. Even better when did any team that had 50+ points at 3/4 time do that??? Spelly?

5 times a team has more than doubled their score after 3 quarter time, had at least 50 points, and lost.

The highest score at three quarter time by a team to eventually lose is 130 points:

spelly, i remember that rd 18 game in 1991 sturt vs the bays, i think mansell for the bays bagged 8 and i was listening on the radio and was so hopeful that we would get up!!!!

Unfortuantely I don't have the crowds for most of that season, so I couldn't say how many, but would have been exciting stuff.

One of the few times I left early.. one of my mates and I were going out getting tanked that night so we agreed to leave at 3/4 and get an early start. 15 min in the last quarter I was doing a u-ey and heading back to Adelaide Oval full pelt.

"REGULAR Footy SA website blogger spell_check revealed an interesting statistic from the last SANFL Round. The North v Sturt under-19 game featured 20 goals in the last quarter. Sturt kicked 11.1 while North managed 9.1. Possibly more entertaining than the flood-plagued AFL."
