Postby oldtimer2 » Tue Aug 12, 2014 1:50 pm

It is 130 years since Port Adelaide finally achieved its goal of winning the premiership as the best club in the colony. It was clearly the best club in the competition during the course of the season. The team was extremely strong, talented and competently lead by the experienced veteran and former Carlton player, Richard Turpenny. His strength in leadership was in no small measure responsible for the Port team being such a formidable and successful unit. The players obviously carried out his instructions and guidance. This account of Port’s first premiership contains an Introduction, Port Adelaide’s Season Summary, Port Adelaide’s Administration, Port Adelaide’s match reports, The Premiership Table, Top Goalkickers, Club Statistics and Player Profiles, a summary of the SAFA season and Club Profile and Records.
