I first started following the SANFL in the late 70's/early 80's, a period when I strongly disliked all clubs but my own, and Norwood and Glenelg were the 2 who i disliked the most (along with Sturt). In saying that though (and I now have a lot of respect and admiration for both of those clubs dating back to that era), I look back now and I can now appreciate what a fantastic player Michael Aish was.

There are just so many for varied reasons, but for the sheer pleasure of watching them play, Phil Carman and Michael Aish. They had the ability to pull out something you haven't seen before.

Duncan Fosdike and Justin Staritski for their skills, David Payne because of his goalkicking abilities, and Rohan Helyar because of his name.

I think Schmaal was from Wudinna, which is a fair way away from Norwood's traditional zone :)

Phil Carman, one of the very best footballers i've seen, if only he had his head attached this bloke would have be regarded as the best footballer ever, complete in every way except between the ears.

McIntosh was certainly a fantastic footballer. He was Norwood's version of Greg Phillips, in the sense that if they played well, invariably their team won. They had the ability to lead and inspire their teammates.

..this is a probably a silly question..but how did he finish up i Norwood? I presume he lived in the area? I'm asking because I believe he may have initially grown up around Port's zone. Someone once mentioned to me that, although he was no fan of the PA Football Club, his "dislike" for them, may not be as strong as what would be expected.

Garry McIntosh was recruited from Hope Valley which was in the Norwood zone.
