The question has been posed over on SL.org, "How often has a team been scoreless at 1/4 time but won the match?" I can think of two occasions, with Glenelg on the losing end each time. How many times has it happened, and if the number is reasonably small can you dump all the match details here?

The one I rememeber is round 1 1976 vs Sturt at Football Park The Bays failed to score in the first qtr with the Blues kicking 3.4? Then the Bays blew Sturt to the weeds after that.
Not totally sure but a 10 goal second term might have occured for the Tigers.

34 times. Glenelg have been involved in the past three, the other two are those that you speak of. The other Glenelg match was indeed the 1976 match.

Between 1976 and 2002 there were only two matches to have this happen. And only six all up since 1963. Three matches were finals, the other two were:

Sort of one the same theme.

Has any team won after only having 0.1.1 at half time as Centrals reserves did vs Port last weekend.

In that legendary 1909 match (almost overshadowed 101 years on), Port were on 0.2 at half time, to defeat Norwood 1.4 to 0.5. That's the lowest at League level.

And for those Reserves I do have, it's a record in the Reserves. There are 733 matches I don't have, however.

I remember the day, warm for August, windy.

The windsock was horizontal, pointing towards the south. Which coincidentally is the end to which Glenelg kicked in the first term It was the strongest wind I have ever seen at a footy match. Fine day, quite warm, just a very strong wind.

The last quarter was absorbing. Glenelg did all the right things, played the perfect game of defensive footy to defend the lead against the howling gale, but Central really just too good in the end.

So, in terms of goals kicked Pseudo, why did only one team really take advantage of that breeze?
Must have been some defenders working over time.

Was that the game where Rick MacGowan snapped the winner,

i was right behind the goals and once MacGowan kicked it the end to enders went up in a huge roar and continued it all the way until the goal umpire signalled it for a goal.

It missed by AT LEAST half a meter, was never a goal im a central fan and can even admit that.
