i even have it  ...as a hand me down from my grandfather (sturt supporter   ) when he died, it has never been played in this household & no hope of playing it either in fact it has more hope of snowing today in adelaide than it has of me playing it ;)

Since you hate it so much, why don't you offer to sell it to him?

I think selling it to me is a grand idea... surely any Bays supporter would go out of his way to help a Sturt supporter?

What could sturt possibly feel inferior to Glenelg about?
Why didn't you just answer his question rather than type another load of bumbling garbage. ( grandfather aside)

you didn't say you hated it, but you didn't exactly make look like it was a sentimental piece of memorabilia either.
sturt supporters feel inferior towards what? explain....if you mean you or glenelg then your badly mistaken.

Instead of being a smartarse or wanna be comedian you should've just answered his question or not bothered at all.

thankyou (i never said it)

inferiority complex = the way you bit at my post, all i was saying is i had it but don't play it & i added (it was in the stereo cabinet for) SENTIMENTAL REASONS (i heard it when i was a kid) i wouldn't think you'd want to read 'red & blue blooded' or 'pride of the bay' etc etc either....no need to get nasty with name calling either

Rob... geez trust you to jump in and stick the knife in... its typical, I had that record on ebay, waiting to win it... I bloody well forgot about it and it went for $10... I was willing to pay $35 for it as every time its on ebay, I mysteriously have a series of blonde moments and somehow miss out on it... its terribly frustrating...

But yes I bow to your superior Sturt collection... <wanders off dejected>

The ironic part is that I really don't have that many Sturt items - just happen to have 2 items that you want. But I have to confess that both items are actually owned by my wife who bought them in her teenage years before she met me! Hence my decision to marry her. Anyway looking forward to catching up with you at Unley this year and if you behave yourself you may get permission to touch the mascot and Sturt record. Did you get yourself a Fabian DeLuca player's card? I'm expecting the value of that item to skyrocket over the next decade....

I can do that if anyone really wants it, I think I did once, maybe it's on a computer somewhere.... I'm lucky, a mate of mine gave me that record a few years ago. Very cool.

Hey Bayman, I totally understand, I've got a hand-me-down copy of Neil Kerley's 7"* (Old Tige / Wandrin' Star) which I keep for sentimental reasons too! In kitsch value it's right up there with Anne Wills' 'Colour My World'.

Yeah such a pity though that the last one was in mint condition and this one is a bit battered... so I'm interested in it, but wouldn't pay anywhere near as much for a worn version... but cheers for the heads up! :-)

The condition wasn't up to scratch.

I think what I'll end up doing is trading some of the Sturt / SANFL memorabilia I have, for things that I would much rather have...

I've never tried to have an all-encompassing collection, more so one that has things I personally value. Like I'd value one of those Sturt mascots, I know someone whose got one, so I think I'll just have to rob him sometime! :-)
