This thread will explain and illustrate the guernseys worn by SANFL clubs throughout the years.

I will demonstrate what I mean by starting off with of course with the Woodville/West Torrens Football Club.

1991-92

The first guernsey comprised of a blue chest, a gold eagle emblem which separated the blue from the green which was below the emblem.

Blue shorts were worn as the home teams' shorts.

(I'll put a photo here)

1993-97

This guernsey was blue, except for a hoop around the midriff (I think, that's the correct term), which had a green hoop with one small gold hoop above and below that.

Blue shorts were worn as the home teams' shorts.

1998-

The guernsey which is the current one, is blue with a eagle in the middle of the guernsey, which is gold with a green patch. Below the eagle is gold and green diagonal stripes, which are staggered and the gold stripes are slightly longer than the green stripes. It has been varied slightly in around 2000 to the current look.

Blue shorts as the home teams' shorts.

(Photo)

2003-

An alternate strip, worn against clubs with blue in them. The same as the 1998- guernsey, but gold instead of blue background.

Blue shorts as the home teams' shorts.

Socks:

Blue, except for the top part which is a green and gold hoop, like the 1993 guernsey hoop.

Gold Spelly, but don't forget the socks!

I'm not exactly sure if the same socks have always been worn, do you know if this is the case?

They MIGHT have been plain royal blue(91-92) then change in 1993.
I'll have to dig up my old Footy Times to check.
I was actually refering to ALL clubs Spelly.

I could try to do all clubs, but I only know so many from each club. I was hoping one or two people could do each club and hopefully provide a photograph(s), preferably colour.

North put out a 1 page production of all the guernseys through the years 2 years ago.
I'll try and track it down, scan it and post it (if someone doesn't first).
If I can't find that I'll take a photo of my lounge room wall that has my Team of the Century print.
Don't get North supporters started on socks, we've had many discussions on the Roost about socks thanks to my good mate Wessie who's obsessed by them!

Colour photos pre-70s might be a little difficult to come by, but I think everyone will be able
make out which shades of gray are which.
I'll do my bit to see what I can find in my library.
Kevin Taylor's website (http://www.footystats.freeservers.com) has an excellent link to all the AFL jumpers
but doesn't include shorts & socks.

I knew I'd find these pictures somewhere.
Should Port use some of these for future heritage rounds?

Ah yes, I recall seeing that guernsey somewhere before, it wasn't used for too long, I recall.

Spelly, didn't the Eagles wear a modified guernsey in some games against Central? I vaguely remember reading at the time that Central complained of a jumper clash, and the Eagles reacted by adding another hoop of gold at the bottom and changing the colour of the numbers.

This guernsey was used from 1983-96?

This was from 1978?-82 (I say 78, as they added the Roosters logo in that year, I think..)

I reckon you're spot on Psuedo, yellow numbers and yellow band around the bottom of jumper. Changed because of the Dogs complaints, bloody winging POMS, who had only changed their jumper the year before....

I honestly can't remember that, but I'll take your word for it.

This guernsey(minus the badge) was introduced in Round 7 of 1970 (against West). In 1977 the SANFL 100 logo was added just for that season (like all clubs) and the club badge was added in 1978. It was last used in the pre-season of 1983.
