1984 SANFL Grand Final on DVD

Ok, it's been a long time coming - with many things happening around me (getting engaged, etc) and I've been slow in getting this done. But last night I "completed" the 1984 SANFL Grand Final on DVD. It's in testing at the moment (a few friends are looking through it) but I'm confident it's all done.

The DVD has full menus, theme song, extra features, final series etc. The special part I like is the extra features with the presentations and speeches back at the club that night after the game. Thanks to Constance_Perm for lending that to me!

You can watch the game in it's entirety with the finals series scores as a build up which is nice way to view it, especially in this "History Makers" year. The screenshots are of low quality (for file size) so the DVD DOES look better than this. I look like a freakin zombie at work today, staying up until 4am until it was rendered.

For those waiting for '83, it will be coming very soon.

The Tim Evans v Craig Balme fight before the game is one of my earliest and greatest memory's of football. Great stuff.

Ive said it before but its a good story, a mate of mine has Macca's socks and boots from the game. back in those days they just gave them away in the changerooms afterwards.

Screenshots look enticing Dissident.

What was your video source for the game?
I assume it would have been a VHS copy.

There's a mob in Adelaide who have the rights to SANFL content prior to 1991.
Last time I checked though, they still hadn't released anything from what I assume would be original broadcast tapes.

Anyway, I would still be interested in a copy at some stage.

By the way, apologies to Port fans - that's two grand finals I've done where you've been on the receiving end..!

Just a small finicky thing, shouldn't details of the finals scores be entitled "1984 Finals Series" as opposed to "1984 Grand Final Series"?

Yeah I know - the '76 GF I did was the same ....
I might change it - not a HUGE problem though!

Yes. I really can't understand why they haven't released anything on DVD. F'n useless.

Fans will appreciate your efforts though.

No one cares?
No one (who can do it) thinks there's a market?

*shrug*

Useless indeed.

I hope they appreciate it - it's an art form ;) I wanted to make the DVDs more than just a direct copy of the original tape.

Happy to make a cover in the same style as the 76 GF DVD if someone wants to point me in the direction of a few photos etc.

Haha, welcome to my world! I couldn't find anything at all in the way of photos.
