Anyone else read this book?
I'm half way through and must admit its a fantastic read.
Ive read about his younger years, how he was coached by Jack Oatey at first at West, then Neil Kerley then Doug Thomas and how everything fell apart when Westies gave Kerls the arse.
There's an excellent chapter discussing Oatey, Kerley and Fos Williams.
Looking forward to reading about his time at Central and Glenelg as well as his rise and fall later in life.

Really good read, 2nd best SANFL historical book I've ever read behind the Ken Farmer Files.
I can't recommend it highly enough, Gerry at the Toss of a Coin has a couple of copies autographed by Ken and the author if you're interested.

Yeah got it a couple of months ago. Pretty good read. Was interesting to read about someone I didnt know a whole lot about. Got to know a lot about some other football identities from that era as well. The chapter where he talks about the difference between Fos Williams, Neil Kerley and Jack Oatey as coaches is excellent.

Agreed about that coaches chapter, I was told from a good source that a lot of time and effort was put into that chapter.
Still enjoying the book immenseley, its amazing how much Ken's fitted into his life and is still going strong.

Finished this book last night and can't recommend it more highly, Ken has certainly fitted an unbelievable amount of things in his life and his ups and downs story is very insperational.
My favourite parts were probably those which gave a fantastic insight into the West Adelaide Footy club in the late 50s/early 60s, the early years of the Central District Footy Club and the years spent at the Bay also.
That's not putting down the rest of the book when Ken got to know some very influential and high profile people.
Do yourself a favour and go and buy this book now!
