North's players from Spell_check's list

Anything to do with the history of the SANFL

Postby Ian » Thu Jan 05, 2006 10:36 pm

All added to list, total now 354 (I think :? )

I've also highlighted the team of the century members in Red, including Mike Patterson who was in the team as coach, not a player.

There was another hamilton ( i think) that played in the early to mid 90's, and I THINK his name was steven, played about the same time as Mancini, Saunders, Marshall etc, remember Bomber as his nickname, he was quite cute

Also I reckon Marc Marshall played for westies as well

Did Andrew Savage play any league games??? Cant remember him breaking it, but i could be wrong...
Don't play games with a girl who can play 'em better...

Yeah "Bomber" Hamilton ended up at Westies from my poor memory but played in our 91 Premiership side.

There's a pic of him on my Tribute to the 91 side page, here's the link and here's the pic:

With those players added, plus Paul James, now 372 players on the list.

He played juniors for us, even won the award for most McCallum Medal votes for a North player in 1988.
I'm pretty confident that he never played league footy for us though.

From the Football Times Year Book in 1980, Michael Diorio made his debut in 1978 and up to 1979 had played 5 games - 1 in 1978 and 4 in 1979.

Other North players I found while looking through The Roost website are:
Simon Longman
Maurice Martin
Stuart Scott
Ian Kroehn (also Central)
Bob Geisler
Chris Robertson

More North players:
Greg Kavanagh
Bill Carroll
Paul AhChee
Terry Bound

Didn't we get a tall bloke from Norwood called Greg Schlein who played a few games for us in the 80's.

Also didn't we pick up a bloke called McNamara (John I think) from Westies when Bomber Hamilton left and joined them - he was a full forward from memory.
