Not a champ...

But a very solid wingman...

Kym Kinnear.

Carl Fragomeni played on a wing in an East Perth premiership side but in defence for Port, so he's off the table.

Reckon Kym Kinnear always used to line up on Glen Rosser and Bruce Light always took Phil Gallagher when Port met Norwood and those four guys were playing. Classic old-time wing battles, in the same way that Platten v Naley v McGuinness v Antrobus were great roving duels in the first part of the 80s

Can still vividly remember Gags doing his hammy trying to stay in camera shot of Michael Graham at Footy Pk ... 1982 I reckon. Might have been the televised Sunday game. Get a moped Gags! Like to see a match race today ...

Good call on the Gags 'string. Greg Thomas also pinged a hammy spectacularly a year or too later trying to chase the Flash as well. Have you got a week set aside to watch these guys run 100 metres these days?

A matter of time before Ralph Sewer is brought into this debate.

I still take Woodcock over Copping, and his extraordinary long arms that Ian Day never failed to mention every time he flew for a mark.

Ralphy played on the ball a fair bit though.

We still say blokes with long arms have "Steve Copping arms"

Cop led the goalkicking at the bay in 1978 (32), 81 (49) and went close in 77 with (70 odd).
He was a sensation in hist stint with the Bombers, then came back and led the goalkicking in the premiership year in 1985 with 83 goals.

He wasnt too bad.

Ralphy actually played in the centre, especially in his prime in the late 70's.

Copping sometimes gets forgotten among the stars of the era.

"Run Away" Ron Hateley was one of the great specialist wingmen.
I remember he kicked 8 one day.

Also Bruce "Run a mile for a fight" Light was pretty handy on a wing.

As said before, think Light always went to Gallagher in Norwood games, mainly so he could find a way to punch him at some stage during the day.

LMAO!

Maybe that's why Gags almost came to Alberton...

When Garry McIntosh began his career, I think lots of Norwood supporters thought he was somehow lost and playing for the wrong club, the way he actively went looking for people to run into and 'engage' with. Still very sad for Kernahan's career that two simple cuffs to the chin (one for each of Macca and Sticks to the other bloke) cost the Glenelg man a Magarey in'83. Was at that game, and neither punch was going to kill anyone, despite the intent. Think Kernahan went down with a suspension largely on the evidence too of a huge photo in either the Sunday Mail or Monday 'Tiser. Bayman will no doubt confirm, having been there too.

Just a lazy 80-odd point win that day from memory (Cue Spelly, first meeting between the teams in 83) ... Sorry I digress, but as a Leg's fan we don't have much to dine on these days :?

Was at that game too and 104 pt margin is the one that comes to my mind ... certainly more than 80. Never liked Macca since that day and justice hardly prevailed when Macca went on to win two of them.

Still, I guess Sticks carved a reasonable career for himself

Copping ... what a legend. Actually played full forward for a while though in 1984 and 1985 resulting in the odd bag of 10 .. three in fact.

11 v Sturt at Unley '84; 10 v Sturt at F/Park '85; 10 v Woodville at Adelaide '85.

Coppo tried to get me into amway a few years ago. He's made a killing on the stuff.

Let's see if anyone can be more irrelevant than that.
