What in your opinion is the SANFL's most infamous on-field incident, and why?
Here's a few to get you started, feel free to add your own:
1982 Prelim - Granger v Cornes.
1991 GF - Sims v Simpson.
1985 Richmond Oval - Riley v Luders.
1977 GF - Phillis v Evans in the goal square.
1967(?) at the Parade - Kerley v Nygaard.
1988 at the Parade - Centrals v Norwood pre-game scuffle at the same end.
1975 - Norm Dare jumping in the crowd to hide during the head count.
For mine, the Granger incident probably ranks as the most infamous. Would like to know more about the 1977 GF incident, all I know is that they were both wandering around dazed in the second quarter and apparently no-one who reported on the game saw what happened.

'86 - Salisbury v Anderson - was right in front of me, I was on the fence about 12m from the incident. Remember it like it was yesterday, not 30 years ago.

I think for the purposes of this discussion we stay on field, considering the subject matter I've raised and where my allegiance lies.

Thanks GWW, these are good additions. I recall going to Footy Park for the second half of that double header (Port v Sturt followed by Centrals v North - a then record crowd for a minor round game?) and hearing on the radio the incident and aftermath. Certainly a lot of discussion about at at the time.
Salisbury v Anderson in the 1986 qualifying final was big news too - I recall the Sunday mail the next day with the massive headline "Anderson KO'd").

1997 prelim final - McIntosh whacking a kid and missing the GF the following week. Which was followed by him receiving a premiership medal. Just another example of an NFC disgrace being offset by the SANFL's favouritism.

The two snipers came off 2nd best against the Norwood players Tardiff was very funny. Played the big tough man against a kid and got belted into the next quarter
