HORSE RACING & TIPS 2011/12

Postby overloaded » Sun Jun 24, 2012 7:52 am

Having seen Black Caviars run last night:
1. Luke Nolan - a combination of arrogance and stupidity, he should be lucky to keep the ride.
2. Doubt she would beat Frankel on that showing

she wont race Frankel, as Frankel trainer has pointed out

and looking at Nolen in the barriers before the race, i dont think he looked that confident. and then to stop riding her for a number of strides, was she gone? or did he not know where the post was?

just saw a clip on adelaidenow from a race at cantebury, Berry stood up in the barriers to adjust and the starter let them go, even worse was that the horse was well supported in the market

Did you guys see on Sunday, a harness race in Victoria had a horse start from the wrong barrier and stewards let the result stand?

http://www.harness.org.au/stewards-reports-detail.cfm?mc=ME240612

RACE 5 – ALABAR BREEDERS CHALLENGE 2YO COLTS/GELDINGS FINAL GROUP 1 – 1609 METRES

Prior to giving the all clear Stewards considered that ALMOST EL EAGLE and LETTUCEFIB both started from the wrong barrier position. After viewing all DVD’s it was established that LETTUCEFIB had locked axles momentarily with ULTIMATE ART during the score up which allowed ALMOST EL EAGLE to go ahead of LETTUCEFIB at this point. Driver G Sugars allowed the gelding to shift down the track. LETTUCEFIB then progressed forward and took the position vacated by ALMOST EL EAGLE and a start was effected. Simultaneous to this HOME OF THE BRAVE had galloped and distracted the starter’s attention from what had occurred. After taking evidence from both driver M Rue (LETTUCEFIB) and G Sugars (ALMOST EL EAGLE) who were both adamant this had not disadvantaged either of their runners the all clear was given. At a subsequent inquiry the driver of ALMOST EL EAGLE (G Sugars) was fined the sum of $500 under Rule 162(1)(g) for starting from the wrong barrier position.
The driver of ULTIMATE ART (M Formosa) was reprimanded under Rule 156(2) for using his whip with a free hand prior to reaching the 200 metre mark. Also driver M Formosa was fined the sum of $200 under Rule 156(3)(b) for unacceptable whip use over the concluding stages of the event.
POCKET CHANGE was out of position at the start and will continue to be excluded from the mobile barrier draw.
A warning was issued against HOME OF THE BRAVE for galloping during the score up and being out of position at the start.
Right in front of me. RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME!

It's not up to city class so makes sense to pick up country prize money. Also if it performs well on the dirt, the gutta cup is not far away.
