Thanks for the heads. Ive never taken notice of Quinella's,and any 2's against exactas but your advice more than doubled my money (which was the only exciting thing about the race mind you).

They seriously need to raise the stakes for this race for attraction of better horses.

Agree to a certain extent but if you've havent got the $$$$ there's not much you can do.
Also it probably wouldn't have made any difference if it was $150,000 as the W.A. Pacing Cup the Friday night was worth $400,000  and even that didn't attract the BEST pacer in Australasia. I recall a few years ago Gloucester Park hosted the W.A. Pacing Cup, Fremantle Pacing Cup and the APC in consecutive weeks all for HUGE prizemoney and they hardly attracted an interstate runner.
Probably has more to do with programming than $$$$ in attracting better horses. Clashing with the Bendigo Cup doesn't help either.
At the end of the day, the S.A. Cup attracted the BEST pacer in Australasia but the downside of that is that it scared a lot away.

You can only say that it attracted the best horse for the last 2 years, before that you could probably say that the only group 1 dynamos were Shakamaker and Courage under fire 2001 & 2002.

I spose there is no point talking about raising stakes if its not possible. And if they did have the money they should probably spend it on upgrading their mains power supplies.
