Starting a new thread to keep track of my MMA bets.

UFC 130 (on today)

1 Unit x Jorge Santiago H2H @ 2.18

The underdog against Brian Stann. Stann's punches pack the power, but his last win was against the one dimensional Chris Leben. Santiago will be unpredictable and has a formidable submission game. Stay out of the pocket and he wins the fight.

1 Unit x Quinton Jackson by KO @ 2.88

Nuff said. The bloke packs a mean punch and will look for kill. The only undoing will be if Hamill is good enough to keep taking him to the mat ala Rahsad Evans.

1 Unit x Fight to go the distance (Mir vs Nelson) @ $2.50

On face value, it looks like these two will want to end the fight early with a big hook, but given they are both great wrestlers, I'm banking on the fight ending up on the ground more often than not. Nelson and Mir have iron chins, going to take a big hit to floor one of them too.

Balance: -0.5 Units

Jackson let rip and threatened to finish the fight early with a barrage of hits, but Hamill hung on. Santiago played into Stann's game, which was frustrating.

If Dos Santos couldn't knock him down, Mir was never going to.

Been doing a bit of study for this Sunday's card, hopefully do a little better this time around.

1 Unit x Shane Carwin H2H @ $2.30

Good odds for a fighter who is 12-1 in the octagon. Dos Santos is a technically gifted boxer, but hasn't met the power that Carwin possesses. Carwin has toned up and I expect his cardio to be vastly improved. Needs to land his heavy jab early.

1 Unit x Jon Olav Einemo H2H @ $2.55

Is long odds because he hasn't fought for a while. Needs to take the game to the ground and Herman will be ripe for a takedown. If you're looking for a bit more value Einemo via submission @ $5.00 has merit.

I expect Munoz ($1.80) to defeat Maia ($2.00), but I wouldn't be surprised to see Maia win via submission ($4.00) as he is a BJJ specialist. It's his best chance for a win so the $4 represents a bit of value.

Einemo had all but finished Herman until he lunged into a desperate knee and got knocked the **** out. Herman a lucky winner. Great fight to watch though.

Carwin never got close. Yeah, good odds for a fighter with the best one-punch knockout power in the sport, but Dos Santos stayed out the pocket and brutally picked him off with lightning quick jabs. If I can get even odds or better for Dos Santos when he takes on Velasquez in the title bout I'll take it. Dos Santos is the real deal.

UFC 132

0.5 Units x Chris Leben by KO @ $6.00

Leben lands a heavy fist and Silva's chin ain't what it once was. Leben only needs to rock his jaw once and the fight is over. The worry is that Silva has a substantial reach advantage, so Leben needs to get close to have a chance.

1.5 Units x Fight Won't Go The Distance (Silva v Leben) @ $1.67

Two bangers who fight to finish. Both have stated they would like to win the Fight of the Night bonus, so I'd be very surprised to see this go all three rounds.

Watched all of the main card, very entertaining. Three of the fights finished in Round 1, although I was hoping Silva vs Leben would go for more than half a minute!
