Just did the ladder predictor and got this -
Geelong
Port
WCE
Roos
Swans
Hawks
Saints
Crows
Collingwood miss!!! some presumptions that Collingwood lose both games to Swans and Crows, Roos beat Carlton and Dogs, Saints beat WCE, although if that results reverses the only change would be WCE host Port 1st week, Swans win both games, Adelaide win both games, bottom line will come down to Collingwood/Adelaide playing a elimination final a week early athe Dome in Rnd 22...that would be a cracker!

I think Adelaide will miss out.Brisbane are firing and Rutten does not appear fit enough to keep up with rampaging J.Brown.Dont give Adelaide the win this week, see what happens then.
WCE will beat the St's and Port will finish third.Lose to WCE and play the winner St's V Hawks at home,go on to lose to Geelong in Prelim in Melbourne.
Geelong beat the Roos,Roos lose to Sydney and WCE and Sydney play out a Prelim final thriller.
Geelong V WCE final.IMO.

collingwood would make it then unless Brisbane could beat Geelong in last round
I got the same in the finals, WCE would shit themselves about facing Sydney again....I give the saints a huge show this week

I dont think that WCE would be to worried with playing Sydney... they have won their last three against them, and although it is always tight i would think they could knock them off again.
This weeks match against St Kilda for the Eagles is very important because if they win you would expect them to finish 2nd and then host Port in the first week. While if they lose then they will finish third and have to head over to AAMI to take on Port were they have a terrible record.

geez, there are some crucial games to shape the final 8 this weekend
St Kilda / West Coast
Sydney / Collingwood
Adelaide / Brisbane
Bulldogs / Hawthorn
Geelong / Port
I make the final 8 to be:
Geelong
West Coast
Port Adelaide
Collingwood
Hawthorn
Kangaroos
Sydney
St Kilda

Woops you picked up an error .... I had Kangas losing to Carlton

I have Sydney losing to Collingwood .... may be a stretch I agree we'll see
Try again:
Geelong
West Coast
Port Adelaide
Kangaroos
Collingwood
Hawthorn
Sydney
St Kilda

Geez that would be a dream for Sainters, I reckon everyone would love to play Collingwood 1st week, esp now Johnson is gone

ill give it a go and mine are:
Geelong
West Coast
Port Adelaide
Kangaroos
Sydney
Hawthorn
Collingwood
St.Kilda
St.Kilda (46 points) scrapping through just before Adelaide (44 points) because of that draw.
Essendon and Adelaide equal on 44 points a piece

My Predictions
West Coast v Saints
West Coast will beat the Saints, the Saints will be without Harvey and Houghton, two critical players, while Judd and Cousins may return for the Eagles
Glass has the capability to hold the G Train, Cox will give the Eagles midfield first look, without Houghton, the Saints defence will struggle to hold Lynch
Pies v Swans
Pies were very ordinary last week, they limped over a depleated Melbourne and with Johnson out they will struggle to match the swans, the Pies will struggle to contain Hall, O'Keefe, MickyO and Davis, Swans to win
Crows v Lions
Charman is a huge loss to the Lions, Rutten will get the job on J Brown, Bock will be plan B, home game should see adelaide get over the line
The following round, I see the Crows beating the Pies, (who have hit the wall), Saints beating Richmond, which means based on my prediction, the Saints will miss, however if the Saints do beat the Eagles, then the Pies could miss, that's if the crows beat both Brisbane and Collingwood

another blow for the saints
ST KILDA tagger Steven Baker was tonight charged with engaging in rough conduct against Fremantle's Jeff Farmer, following an AFL investigation.

as it was investigated by the AFL investigation officer, Baker goes directly to the tribunal
you would think he is in some sort of trouble, the incident happened behind the play, farmer was carried off with blood pouring out of his nose

Deliberate, behind play, serious - 6 seems reasonable! If I were Farmer I'd go to the police and lay an assault charge as well, even if I'd said something to provoke it!
Has anyone ever done that? I don't think the law is actually suspended for assaults on the field that are not normally incidental to the game!?

I think that Geelong player (Bruns?) took legal action against Leigh Matthews for the off the ball head high hit in around 1985. IIRC?

Good call Sydney. But I reckon that Collingwood will beat Adelaide in the last round.

Be interesting to see if they call Voss as a witness.
Especially considering he changed his story during the telecast.
Initially said he saw the incident.
Then after the game said he only saw Farmer falling to the ground.
Which Voss saw the incident - the commentator? Or the (ex) player?
