Pavlich Re-Signs with Freo

3 year deal. Sounds of wailing heard from Football Park.
It's all the SANFL's fault.

If that's the case then Mark Harvey has already been given the job and as has been mentioned before, just because someone signs a contract with a club doesn't guarantee that the player concerned will be at the club concerned for the duration of that contract.

Good luck to him - can't blame him for staying on. I'd say their recent good form and getting along with the new coach must have swayed him.

Would have been tought to snag anyway but obviously a great pick-up if it came off. Gives us an opportunity to go for someone else - an up and coming midfielder would do nicely.

There'd be some tears at Alberton too I'd say  .... AND across the border (to our right) if media reports are accurate

I mentioned yesterday that it looked like Pav was enjoying his footy again, and would resign

Agree, Harvey has the job

Secondly, their was definitely a rift between Pav and Connolly

why panic that pav has signed a contract with freo ....

if the crows or port want to trade with freo doesnt the player need to be contracted ..

if pav hadnt signed then everyone is risking the pre season draft

all is not lost

Correct

Modra signed a contract with Adelaide at ~ rd 18 in 1998 after he kicked six agaisnt Geelong at Kardinia park.....two months later he was traded, all this means is that ANY other AFL club will have to match or better that contract if Pavlich leaves Freo...

Who knows Freo might even agree to kick in paying part of his contract if it gets their TPP down a la Melbourne with Woewodin when he first went to Coll :D :D
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Wasn't sure really, i dont believe anything i read in the paper and i dont know the bloke so how would I know? I think it is awesome a bloke has shown loyalty to his club- I know I sound bitter but I just hate the feral rivalry that occurs between clubs- some, mostly unintelligent blokes, get pleasure out of other clubs misery- get a life FFS

The difference was that Modra was traded at the Crows insistence - I doubt Freo would do/want the same. Maybe having the signed contract puts the decision more with the club, bit hard for the player to pull out of a contract than the club.

Stumps..If you are refering to my "laugh" quote..well FYI I was laughing more at Troy GFC than the Crows losing Pav. Hey as a Carlton man, I was hoping he wanted a crack in Vic...And as for Misery, Carlton have given me the last 5 years of miserys...

They've been on his case for a few years now I thought?

When it came out about the Crows chasing him, reports said Port were also still keen on his services

In all fairness, heard that Carlton wanted him, and you'd guess EVERY club would want him. So to say the Crows missed out, or Port missed out in just pure conjecture, when who's to say he would've signed with them anyway ?

From what I heard on the radio last night Cameron Schwab basically said that it was a very easy to get pavs signature again.

Did the crows put that little pressure on the Fremantle football club and Pav to make it sound like it was that easy - of course they just sat on there hands as usual.

End of rant !!!
It is what it is !!!
