Yes - playing kids with leg speed, and not playing players who can barely stand up it seems. Are we sure the two teams haven't swapped coaches since last year???

I have seen on another topic and tend to agree that the crows have always played there name players no matter what !!!

If a player is injured and they are playin it doesnt matter who they are should not be selected and even more so at this time of the year !!!

To back this up and I know it is not @ the same level but I coach a side @ amatuer level and on the weekend we had 2 key players that went in to a game telling us they were fully fit and had gotten over there injuries. One was from the week before and one had been out for 4 weeks.

One player pulled up lame after his first contest and the second player did the same thing after his first contest - both gone after 5 minutes of the game. Both said they could can stay on the ground but couldnt run - I wont tell you what I said. So we were 2 quality players down in the first 5 munutes and we ended up losing !!!

DONT PLAY INJURED PLAYERS !!!

I think you will find that it is what Mark williams did last year that has Port Power in the posistion they are in this year. Maybe something Mumbles should look at...

I would like to see the crows make some changes again this week -

For me Hinge across half back / back pocket - Griff back in to the ruck and swapping up forward with Maric - Porplyzia forward pocket.

Doea any one know if Sellar is injured ???

I read Craigy's comments on Sellar recently - he implied that Sellar was going through a big learning curve re AFL footy. Suggests to me that even if he was fit he isn't ready for AFL in 2007.

Blue Boy - sympathise re your 2 injured players - bet you were fuming they let the side down badly

On this Im not sure what are the expectations Mummbles has on this young lad regarding his learning curve - but it better be a good one.

My question is that nearly every other club plays there first round draft picks in that same year to get them to learn what the AFL gamie is about -

Why dont the crows ???

Hinge? Pfeiffer's in MUCH better form than Hinge, and they've been playing the same position lately.

Because they are ridiculously conservative. I highly doubt every other first round pick that has played this year has been mentally and physically ready for the AFL, but they have still played and got a taste.

This is one thing that really infuriates me about Neil Craig.

I'm not so sure about that but I'll stand corrected if someone can produce the stats. With our local teams, Port haven't played all of their 2006 draft pool (4 out of 7):

Travis Boak (Torquay FC) YES
Paul Stewart (Woodville-West Torrens) NO
Nathan Krakouer (Claremont) YES
Robert Gray (Oakleigh Chargers) YES
Justin Westhoff (Central District) YES
Ryan Williams (Geelong Falcons) NO
Adam Cockshell (Norwood) NO

Of the 2005 draftees by the Crows all have played bar Pfieffer and Obst (delisted last year). Others were Hinge, Griffin, Douglas, Vince, Porplyzia. Of last year's, Crows have played 2 of 5 draftees.

Think it depends on where the team is at. Be careful with the generalisations Blue Boy!

Cockshell played the first 2 games with the Power.

OK

I also think Tippett has been injured some of the year for the Crows.

Still reckon if you went through all teams you would find a 50% play rate on average for previous year's draftees. Port are higher this year no question and given their results, the Crows could definitely look to fast track some players through next season.

It was more abvout all 16 clubs and there first round draft picks - not sure if it was misunderstood !!!

who knows what is going to happen in a showdown. Last year i think Port knocked off the crows when the crows were favourites....

I would love for Pfeiffer to get his opportunity

One area which I am critical with the crows drafting, is they need to find more 6ft running types, the Eagles have so many players above 6 foot who play wing, HB, or HF and this extra height hurts the crows every time

Pfeiffer has the potential to be this type of player

I could...so far up to/including round 17.
Gibbs - Carlton - 17 games hasn't missed one.
Selwood - Geelong - 14 games
Frawley - Melbourne - 8 games
All other first round draft picks EXCEPT Sellar - Adelaide, O'Keefe - Sydney & Brown - Collingwood,
have made their debut this year...
