Must be close to the last straw:

As reported ABC Newsmail 19-07-07

*Farmer under police investigation*

Fremantle Dockers forward Jeff Farmer is being investigated by police in Perth over an incident at the Burswood Casino on Wednesday night. Police received a complaint this morning from the owner of a car which was damaged in a car park at the casino last night, but it is unclear whether Farmer knew the owner of the vehicle. Casino security officers detained Farmer around midnight but he was released and no charges have been laid. Detectives from Kensington are investigating the incident and are expected to interview Farmer, and will review security footage from the casino car park.

Farmer was fined $3,000 by the Perth Magistrates Court in May for assaulting a bouncer at a Perth nightclub. The player was fined a further $5,000 and stood down for six matches by the club. Fremantle's Chief Executive, Cameron Schwab, says he will talk with the police and Farmer before making any decision on his future. "We'll wait till we get all the information before we make any calls on that, " he said. "We understand his background and we understand his history and we'll wait until we get all the information, including speaking to Jeff. "

So true. On his day he can be as good as anyone. So exciting to watch. What a waste.

Talented druggies and alcoholics tend to cause more disruption than they are worth. Only a few, like Martin Pike, straighten out a bit when they get older. The time to salvage them is in their teens before it becomes a their established way of life.
