Has the Heritage Round run its course?

Will there be a Heritage Round in 2008 or has it burnt out?
We've had a 70s round and an 80s round as well as a general round in one or two seasons with outfits from any age. Could there be any more areas to exploit or are we going around in circles?

FFS..get rid of ALL themed rounds..
Seriously, I couldn't give a rats arse if Carlton wear a jumper with chamois shoulders or the olde style font etc etc.
If the AFL want to celebrate a era where 5 teams currently playing didn't excist or excisted in another form (i.e Fitzroy / South Melbourne )
makes you wonder...

I'd certainly like to see the Heritage Round concept continue. From my perspective it's one of the highlights of the season.

I think it's time for the AFL to accept that the AFL's heritage is 1990 or so onwards and to try to manufacture heritage rounds throwing back to VFL days causes more dramas than it's worth when 5 of the teams didn't even exist then.
Leave the clubs to do it when they choose for special occasions if they want to ... like the SANFL does

No its not!!! Just because it changed its name, it doesn't lose its heritage.

I think that it works far better in the SANFL, my thoughts is that the SANFL could do more in that area, yet as for the AFL, I think that they are struggling with managing the concept.

I'd agree with that.
The WAFL are rather ambivalent towards it (though Round 1 was a Heritage Round and two of the nine clubs wore old-style uniforms) and the clubs just get permission to wear a different jumper for a certain occasion.

I think heritage round should be where a team simply reverts back to the first jumper worn by that particular CLUB.
Just like power’s 1997 one, the Crows in 91, and onward.
That would stop arguments about heritage and just make the whole concept easier.
Themed rounds aren’t bad.
Any suggestions for a decent theme?

Smart enough theory in my eyes - all the AFL have to do is make sure there are no jumper clashes!

Yes I know what you mean, the AFL's heritage is the VFL and all the clubs that ever played in it
What I am trying to say is that the 5 clubs that didn't exist before 1987 create most of the dramas we've all been discussing the last week.
I personally think the Crows rotating SANFL guernseys would be great however I could understand a Sturt supporter/member, for example, not being happy about their guernsey being used by the Crows. The Crows 1st guernsey is slightly different from today and so it could be worn. But the differences are so minor there's hardly any point.

They should bring in a once off University team for heritage round.
Imagine the fans.
10,000 streakers @ the MCG.
Bring your cricket bat.

LMAO
Let's go the whole hog. Why not:
* Two on the interchange bench
* 15 metre penalties
* Centre diamonds
Then again, there'd be an uproar with different rules for different weeks. It's bad enough now!

What about 1 week every year where no one can get reported...
In all honestly how big would the crowds be that week...
Could maybe double it up with rivalry round... would love to see cornsey and birdman both get a good whalloping

How about 'movie theme' round where the players can dress up as their favourite character from a movie

Good one can just see The Adelaide midfield running around as Priscilla Queens of the Desert...
