My views on this years uniforms.
Good -
Port - should wear their SANFL jumper more often, especially against the crows and Collingwood.
Fremantle - East Fremantle should revert back to this as well.
Essendon - Red shorts don't look so bad after all.
Richmond - Gold shorts don't look so bad after all.
Western Bulldogs - loved the shorts AND socks.
Hawthorn - Shorts good, jumper so-so.
Bad -
Adelaide - WTF?! Mind you, I hate everything about this garbage.
Melbourne - Since when have they had Navy Blue at the top of the socks?
Sydney - Couldn't change much as they wore the same throughout the '70s.Go back a bit
further when they wore hoops, a sash and briefly a monogram.
West Coast - Wasn't bad but didn't do anything for me.
Brisbane - This is the same as Charles Manson wearing Sharon Tate's maternity dress.

Half the strips are the same, than you have clubs like Adelaide and the Eagles, recognising state football, other clubs recognising their founder clubs like Port and Freo

I know what the AFL are trying to do but I am not convinced of the concept

Brisbane should wear the old fitzroy jumper every time they play in melbourne. 100% improvement on that white strip they wear.

I hate everything about this Port Adelaide Magpies garbage - but I'll support the Power against Victorian teams if they don't wear the the jumper with the SANFL Magpies natural home on it often enough to get up my nose.

I agree, fitzory jumper should get a bit more of a go.
Adelaides i didnt understand, couldnt really see what was happening on the front but using a old font - logo doesnt cut it for a heritage jumper IMO. why not wear a SANFL jumper? take it in turns every year...anything but what they do now.

What does it matter - it is only a marketing trick anyway.

I like the idea of Adelaide wearing the strips of the SANFL clubs on a rotational basis, except Port Magpies. Or pick the club furthest frrom a clash. Play Melbourne, Carlton- North. Play Sydney- Sturt, Collingwood- Eagles, and so on. I would also include the old Peckers/Warriors in this rotation because noone is going to clash with green & gold.

thought the Melbourne one was great, they should wear that as their clash top instead of that Red one they wear

When the Crows were formed, the hybrid Eagles were still seperate identities, I agree with using the SANFL club on a rotational basis, The old West Torrens & Woodville tops should be worn though rather than the amalgamated top.

Brisbane should rotate Roys, Bears and new Lions jumper every few games. Finals though new Lions jumper.

Crows have no tradition so should just wear normal jumper IMO.
Port looked good in prison bars, made me remember why I hate them so much!

I agree with most, didn't the Fitzroy guernsey look sensational, one of the best guernseys ever.

Even tho it's not a 70s guernsey I thought the Crows outfit (same as last year's) looks good all the same. I agree that they should rotate the old SANFL guernseys.

But the big GONG of the round has to go to Collingwood & St Kilda who must have packed the wrong bags on Saturday . Interesting that on a Collingwood home game, it seems it's more important for Eddie that Collingwood wear their 2007 home outfit and make St Kilda wear white on heritage round.

Overall tho I am a bit over the throw-back guernsey round. When you see the Eagles running around in a WAFL SOO jumper, Freo looking like the Kangaroos, Collingwood refusing to participate, others where the only difference was the colour of the shorts ..... has the concept 'jumped the shark'???

Carltons was good!
Prefer the Dees in the Royal Blue I must say...
Brisbane should wear the Fitzroy jumper for ALL away games, it is a great looking strip.
As to the Crows wearing SANFL jumpers, no way do I want them to wear a Glenelg jumper.
NEVER.....

Maybe they should just wear their first jumper... and they cant sing HERE WE GO HERE WE GO CAMRY CROWS!!!! when they run on to the ground...

would never like to see them wear the SOO jumper!!!! No AFL should be allowed to ear them!

here is my jumper thoughts and idea's
Crows: The should wear their 95-6 pre-season cup strip.
Brisbane: Fitzroy jumper all the time looked fantastic and unlike Fitzroy in later years that was a winning strip.
Carlton: Keep it the same
Collingwood: The could wear their barcode strip with the magpie on the front.
Essendon: Red Shorts
Freo: Swap between the fremantle's jumpers
Geelong: wear a replica of the 1912 jumper thicker blue and white hoops
Hawthorn: Try the Mustard Pot jumper one year.
Melbourne: I liked the Royal blue great jumper.
North Melbourne: Just wear your traditional Blue and white stripes
Richmond: Wear and hooped jumper like you did at the start.
Port: Prison bars looked great
St. Kilda: Try wearing the 1915 jumper the yellow was fantastic
Sydney: An old SMFC monogrammed jumper would be interesting.
West Coast: Never wear a SOO jumper again.
Western Bulldogs: try the 1935 bulldogs strip it looked great.

Wanna mention that neither Richmond or the Kangaroos changed their guernseys?
Yep - Richmond changed their shorts, big deal. But obviously that's enough to stop you criticising them.

It was fantastic to see the Brisbane Lions honoring the merger by wearing the Fitzroy jumper for the fourth time since the merger. This was the first time though that the 1975-1996 Fitzroy jumper had been worn.

The Fitzroy jumper makes its' next outing for Round 19 against the Hawks on August 11th at the MCG.

Interesting co-incidence that Fitzroy's last two games in the 1975-1996 jumper were played at the MCG and Subiaco. The jumper comes out again eleven years later in reverse order at Subiaco and the MCG.
