No wonder he wanted to get paid for the 2002 season even though he retired at the end of that 2001 season

Four more VFL/AFL hits to ponder ...

* Stan Magro on Jezza in 1979
* Dermie on Van Der Haar in the 1988 finals
* John Bourke on the spectator in the televised reserves match between Collingwood and the Swans in the mid '80s
* Leigh Matthews' king-hit on Neville Bruns in 1985

Punky, I was at that game vs Geelong at Princes Park, happened near where we were sitting...Milburn was lucky he got out of the ground alive !
There was a pretty decent throng of people waiting in the carpark for him after the game ! :D
Was a massive hit, SOS hit the deck like a sack of spuds, I can still remember the air coming out when Milburn cleaned him up.
SOS was a pretty decent unit, so had to be a good hit !
How many games would Milburn get for that now ?

Wouldn't have been half the agro had he not wound the crowd up after the hit. Dunno if it was gutsy or insane.
It's all the SANFL's fault.

One of the more gutless hits ive seen - that milburn one.

My favourite is probably Voss on Alan Richardson circa 95ish at the Gabba.

Pickett on Krummell wasnt bad either.

I was at the pub on Sunday and they were showing all the best bumps and brawls in the VFL/AFL. It was great to watch. I didn't realise Leigh Matthews was such a dirty player!

Ta MAcca I was trying to remember that one too much better than Milburns - and like you say one of teh best one I've seen too.

You know its a soft bump when they leave the ground hence why McCormacks and Delany's was so good in the SANFL a couple of years back.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Good to see Milburn go on after that game to be a great player in the top team whilst Carlton fade into obscurity.

Similarly to the Simsy incident in 1991 its unfortunate that most people forget the lead up to incidents.

Bollocks.Geelong were 70 points down in that game, have not won a flag since Adam was patrolling half back, while Silvagni played in premierships and was named full back of the century at one of the AFL's oldest clubs.Oh yeah,Milburn comes out well on top.

Silvagni didn't win won premiership after that game and Milburn's sitting pretty in the top team of the land at the moment.

I did say "after that game". Crikey, the reading skills of Port supporters at times! :?

Mal Brown's was in a Champions of Australia game for East Perth against Carlton in 1972.
It was Brown v Percy Jones, Bruce Doull and Trevor Keogh (the most memorable punchee) amongst others.

Absolutly loved Carr's hit on Kerr in the derby yesterday. And the stare into a rabid West Coast crowd! Priceless.
