i didn't have a pen but sa led by 6 goals at 1/4 time & by 17 points at half time, the lead increased to 6 goals at 3/4 time & they ran out comfortable winners by 49 points

well done to the croweaters

best players (imo) (no list of names) no's 7,8,18,20,
for the vics clearly a big lad 27 from 1,7

This is second time a vic team has got beaten this weekend in the carnival with Vic Metro got beaten by W.A the other the day

Demetriou says the problem in Victoria is not cyclical anymore then a fortnight later, Victorian teams are right up in the leading pack and the issue is dumped ... Victorian patriotism reigning supreme.

Now for the first time in a while now, both SA and WA have sent the Vic sides home with their tails between their legs to the tune of 8 goals.

Good for us South and West Aussies, but blind joy aside, will this affect the standard of AFL footy in the next 5-10 years (remembering that Vic is still a major supply of draft picks) or will the focus become more national.

That said, the next thing is that Vic AFL clubs will whinge that they don't get to see the "interstate" talent because we can't afford talents scouts to watch footy west of Kaniva ... of course, most of them use tunnel vision and confine their scope to the TAC Cup.
