THE AFL Commission has rejected a proposal from the Ten Network to stage the 2007 grand final as a twilight game.
Ten approached the league last month pitching its plan to have the season decider start at 5pm (AEST) so the broadcaster could gain more viewers.
The broadcaster's plan would have had the build-up coverage begin at midday and post-game coverage finish by 11pm.
AFL chief executive Andrew Demetriou has stated he is a traditionalist, leaning towards keeping the showpiece game of the season as a day clash, which starts at 2.30pm (AEST).
The commission backed up Demetriou's preference by ruling to leave this year's grand final a day game.

GF day coverage from noon - 11pm is a bit much for mine.
Reckon it's inevitable tho ...... one day
