Appeal to AFL supporters

For any of you who are principally AFL supporters frequenting the site, you will know it is an AFL-free weekend for Adelaide teams this week.
What better opportunity could there be for a footy fix this weekend than to get along and re-aquaint yourself with SANFL footy? (Especially since it is "Rivalry Round"!) None of the local games clash with one another so if you're keen, you can get along to all four games for a price not dissimilar to that of a match day ticket to one AFL game!
On Friday night at 7.40pm the round kicks off with Norwood vs Sturt under lights at Coopers Stadium (aka the Parade). Norwood has won four in a row to edge into the five and the Double Blues are looking to be a much improved side this year with limited recruiting and a new coach in Rick MacGowan.
On Saturday afternoon, it is a 2.00pm start (note new start times this year!) when Port Magpies take on Glenelg at Alberton. Port are looking to regain some of their early season form following a run of recent losses and the Bays are on a high after a 22 goal win last week over Westies.
On Saturday night, the steamrolling dogs will be out to avenge last year's grand final loss to the Eagles for a second time this season. The Eagles have been a bit up and down and are looking for some consistent results and will be hoping to beat the dogs in the biggest rivalry of the millenium so far. The game is at Hamra Homes Oval (Elizabeth) and starts at 6.30pm.
On Sunday, there a crucial clash at Alan Hickinbotham Oval (Noarlunga). South put up an honourable effort against Central last week to lose by just 21 points whilst North had a big win over the Eagles. The ladder is tight and South will want to keep in touch with the final five whilst North will be seeking to consolidate a top 3 position.
West has the bye this week.
Hope to see you at a game and please, try not to wear any AFL merchandise - its rivalry round in the SANFL!
