Both are champions and should be regarded that way.

Bayman - the top 10% of the comp like Buckley and Roo are on set contracts (i.e. $500k p.a.) therefore they get the cash if they play or not, unlike the other players get a retainer ($100k) plus a per game payment ($5k)
Ive seen on of Adelaide's premier players contract and its quite simple....we pay you $$$$ no matter what!

I have not been approached to coach at the WFC this year, next year or any year. I have not approached the WFC to coach this year, next year or any year. This is an unconditional statement.

And they are both getting to the end of their careers, like some players in other clubs. It is up to the club to discretely tap them on the shoulder when it is obviously the time to go if they don't recognise it themselves, and up to them to take it like men and not spit the dummy like Chrissy and Benny did when the Crows told them - a season late. Bodies wear out faster in the faster game, and the big money makes it hard to know when to quit.Dogwatcher wrote:I certainly wouldn't suggest an alternative reason for either player.
