Maybe he should had stop worring about pumping all that iron and worry about getting his bottom half alright. This could be the end of a great player.

I certainly wouldn't suggest an alternative reason for either player.

Both are champions and should be regarded that way.

Bayman - the top 10% of the comp like Buckley and Roo are on set contracts (i.e. $500k p.a.) therefore they get the cash if they play or not, unlike the other players get a retainer ($100k) plus a per game payment ($5k)

Ive seen on of Adelaide's premier players contract and its quite simple....we pay you $$$$ no matter what!

I dare say in these 2 guys instances the clubs would look after them, especially if it means bringing a rookie thru in their place for the rest of the season

I said the same thing in the 'GONE' thread started for Robert Harvey ....

Don't be so quick to pull the cutain on careers of champion players

Ending your career because of injuries is bad enough without internet forums telling you to stop trying and give up

And they are both getting to the end of their careers, like some players in other clubs. It is up to the club to discretely tap them on the shoulder when it is obviously the time to go if they don't recognise it themselves, and up to them to take it like men and not spit the dummy like Chrissy and Benny did when the Crows told them - a season late. Bodies wear out faster in the faster game, and the big money makes it hard to know when to quit.

Perhaps they should be paid less. I've always though it odd that entertainers and politicians earn more than Scientists, when we need the Scientists more.
