Much of the focus on the bottom sides has been on both Richmond and Melbourne. Carlton won their first two games but have lost the last six games in a row, todays loss against the Crows being their sixth straight.

Pagan like Wallace is rated as a high quality coach, yet like Wallace just does not seem to be having any joy at present. Considering the way that the coaches head is often called for when clubs are not going well, I wonder if the Tab have Pagan on similar odds to Daniher and Wallace for the first coach to be sacked for 2007?

the blues may have lost their 6th straight game, but at least they tried to win it and didnt go defensive from the start like some teams in their situation do.

PAGAN will stay as i believe you can see that the future for carlton does look promising in the next couple of years when the juniors develop more.

I thought Carlton were great yesterday and only went missing for 1 quarter (second) and 10 minutes (last 10), otherwise could have won. I was relieved to win TBH and thought Carlton are not too far away which is lot more than can be said after the last 2 years.

Having said all that, if the Blues end up at 4-18 or something similar it may not matter how attractive the Blues look on the field to save Pagan. If he goes, someone will come in and look like a master coach because they have some great juniors.

At least Pagan has 2 premierships under his belt. For some time, Terry Wallace has been maintaining a high media profile and riding the accolades of his 2 Prelims with the Bulldogs 10 years ago. I wonder how much longer he can keep it up without on-field success?

Carlton midfield and attack OK but their defence lets too many easy goals in....if they could improve that they would win more games as they are definately kicking winning scores

If the game was played at Princes Park I think that the home ground advantage could well have gotten Carlton over the line. The Crows seem to be becoming a lot more comfortable playing at the Docklands in recent times.

First off, Wallace is a hack and should get the arse.

My beloved Blues don't quite have the cattle at the moment I'm afraid and I see them as a 2005 Hawthorn - getting there but don't have the experience to nail a game like Saturday often enough. They have been close a number of times in 07 but lose it in a 20-minute window (e.g. the second quarter against Adelaide).

14th is good news but if this was 2009, we would be annoyed because the Murphys, Gibbs' and the other young guys will have 40-50 games under their belt and the experienc ewould be to the Blues' benefit.

I agree Sojourner, if it was at Princes Park I reckon we might have snuck home by a goal or two ... that's life!

Problem is Benchy you need those blokes to have 100 games up not 40-50. I'm a Catter so I know.

Even a couple of seasons under their belt and they would have won that - the more 100 games + players we have in the future and they'd be expected to win them!

My friends from the Cattery agree with you ... maybe a consistent side at last?
