Kangaroos vs Carlton

What a great game, as I type, 4 1/2 minutes to go, Kangaroos lead Carlton 22.15 to 20.10.

Which was the final score. A lot of times there were a scramble of players in the centre, but when the ball got out, it increased the chances of scoring:

Kangaroos 4.5 8.10 15.14 22.15 (147)
Carlton 5.4 12.6 14.9 20.10 (130)

Don't get too carried away Dutchy.. I think they are def in great form & probably should be 7-1..

What I will say though is what a great attacking style of play they play.. great to watch and enjoyable to sit there.. thankfully for me I had both TV's on the footy tonight.. one was a really good game, the other put me to sleep!
Port Power has 16 years history at Football Park...

The Port Magpies have 40 years history and the two shall never be confused or combined

Interesting game to watch

Obviously plenty of goals which will please the fans and viewers

Roo's are definitely on the right track, they have got some exciting youngsters in Campbell, Thomas and Swallow, most impressively these kids are prepared to take on their oppositions and attack the game

The other positive for the Roo's is their experience players in Harvey, Simpson and Grant are also in pretty good form

The concern out of last nights performance was having 130 pts kicked against them, now before forum members jump on me, I am not being negative, I am probably making the same observations the Roo's coaching staff will be making this morning and I am sure they will be addressing the issue this week at training.

I thought Carlton was dead on their feet after half time, Favola was on one leg and Betts was injured on the bench, but Carlton still managed to kick 20 goals.

Plenty of people will say "who cares", if the opposition kickes 20 goals and we kick 23, well that is the objective of the game.

History shows that the team with one of the stingiest defence are usually most successful come finals

All in all, plenty to like about the Roo's, they continue to defy the critics, with some young talent playing exciting footy, Wells and Archer to come back in to the side, most importantly the Coaching staff still have some improvement area's to focus on, which should keep the team pretty level headed.

Moving forward if they can tighten up their defensive action without losing that attacking game, they will continue to improve and continue to defy the critics

Carlton have been involved in some of the highest scoring games this year and the Kangaroos have been one of the highest scoring teams so big scores were on the cards.

Is it because Carlton don't have great defensive action so the other team doesn't bother as much and we end end up in a shoot-out? (Which the Blues usually lose). Interesting to watch next week when they play the Crows.

Kangaroos play the Dees next week great chance to go 6-3

Dee's will be coming back from the West, they may be a bit flat, but then again last night's conditions looked energy sapping and both Carlton and Kanga's will need to focus on recovery and freshening the players so they are up for this week
