Hehe, dont get all serious now my comment was tongue in cheek. They have seriously surprised me since Neil Craig started coaching them, would love to see Ayres back as coach as that would help Port win a few Showdowns.

WTF??? are we talking about the same team that played Collingwood 2 weeks ago. We were hopeless against them, Essendon in Round 1 and should have beaten a pathetic Fremantle and we are supposed to consistent. I don't think so. One good game against Brisbane is worth sweet FA and if we repeat our effort from a couple of weeks back Richmond will push us this week.

The news this morning Riccuito has had a further setback only makes life even more difficult for us - his career could well be over ala Nathan Buckley.

the CROWS are the best thing since sliced bread and how they have managed to win games this season while half the squad are in hospitable and being investigated it really is a sensational effort.

the more the CROWS show this character, the more i wish i was a Crows fan........ :vom:

I apologise.Port Adelaide SHOULD have been the winner of the first SA based licence in 1990.

I apologise for our court bid failing.

Port should have been cast into the outer darkness in 1990, severed from the SANFL, and left to wither on the vine, for assisting the VFL to force the creation of a bastardised AFL with too many Melbourne teams in it. Once Port had set the thing in motion the SANFL's hand was forced.

no they could of just let port go ahead and then there would be no crows and the world would be a better place.

Nah, the Crows were rightly first, then Norwood should have gotten the second licence. Better still NO team from SA should have joined the VFL and the player retention scheme should have been maintained - after Port were pruned out of the SANFL for their treachery!

I still remember the story about Haydn Bunton and the boys painting the Black Diamond corner red and blue after a grand final and how thin-skinned and non-amused all the Portites were!

Yeah they weren't great against Collingwood and they have been a bit inconsistent at times but they have a shocking injury list at the moment so to be 4-3 and 5th is a great effort. They have also pulled off major upsets over the Dogs and Brisbane which is a credit to them, they were superb at the Gabba.. what a great performance. They are also the only team to beat the side sitting on top ;)

It could only have been Jack Oatey after the 1946 Grand Final.

I think it was after the 1960 Preliminary Final when Norwood beat Port and put an end to Port's bid for a 7th flag. Might be wrong but I'm pretty sure I'm right.

Your right about there injury list. Looks more like a shopping list...
They looked really flat against Collingwood.

You may be right - Hadyn Bunton Jnr was the Norwood coach at the time, but I'm not quite sure of the details as I wasn't there.

"Bunton made his mark both as player and coach. He started his football
career in South Australia, playing 97 games for North Adelaide and 54
for Norwood, where he was appointed coach at the age of 20. When he
returned to Perth he joined unfashionable Swan Districts and immedi-
ately steered the team to a hat trick of premierships, in the process
gaining individual glory with the 1962 Sandover Medal. He moved to
Subiaco as captain-coach in 1968 and played a further 59 games. He
also coached the Lions to premierships in 1986 and 1988. He recalled
ordering a new logo for the Swans. “When I got there it was more like
a placid duck and I commissioned an artist to come up with a fighting
swan,” he revealed. In one game against South Fremantle he achieved
a remarkable 88 possessions. “I was captain-coach so when I called for
the ball I got it,” he smiled."
