This is my assesment of the alternate strips that we have seen already.
GOOD
Carlton - White w/- Navy monogram. Almost complete reverse of regular jumper. Simple.
Western Bulldogs - White w/- Red & R.Blue hoops. Same as Carlton.
Fremantle - Predominantly White w/- Purple anchor. Almost another reverse of home jersey.Seeing a pattern here?
BAD
Port Adelaide - WTF is going on here? UGGERLY!!!
Essendon - They're kidding?...Aren't they?! Good lord.. they're not!
NEED SOME WORK
Brisbane - Needs more Maroon and/or R.Blue rather than Gold.
St.Kilda - Red and Black stripes down side are almost invisible.
50/50
North Melbourne - I'm ambivilant towards the R.Blue w/- White vee. But this mob have had so many
different uniforms over the past ten years that I can't keep track of the official version.

I like North Melbourne and Freo's clash/away guernsey's better than their originals. Carlton and Bulldogs have done a good job of making a clash guernsey nice and simple. They look good.
Essendon's looks terrible and Port have the worst guernsey in the competition with whatever they were wearing today.

Freo - great
Carlton - great
Brisbane - needs more work
Bulldogs - great
Power - terrible
Essendon - taking the p**s out of the concept
Kangaroos - really like the 'white V' guernsey

no sh*t Essendon is taken the pi$s. There was a note about in the clubs newsletter last year which said " If the Afl wants a clash jumper this is what we are going to submit, it will be our only submition because we dont belive in a clash jumper, If the afl accepts this, then will wear it, but it would have to be the biggest farcical in history"

They will keep that attitude up until they are the only ones not doing it and it becomes embarrassing, even more so than when they pulled out their new red look a few weeks ago. I think the only ones that really care about this are the CEO's of the Bombers and the Pies. No-one else (including a lot of their supporters) really gives a toss about a clash guernsey or their in-princible little 'protest'. They need to show some leadership to their members rather than riling them up against the AFL.

Both I reckon - the ideal alternative guernsey should do both things

Crows should introduce a white strip rather than have the two alternate strips IMHO
maybe replace the predominately blue of the home jumper with white?

The Powers alternative strip is a BIG step forward over what they had last year. I actually dont mind it too much. Looks better than it did in the pictures released when it came out and than the ones you can actually buy.

No We Care our guernsey is our guernsey and has been that way since the start of the VFL/AFL why should us or Collingwood be forced to change our guernsey it's work for 111 years, you might not care but we care about our history, heratige and our identiy.

Just because of a splash of teal, you keep following the Bombers, and not the Port Adelaide Football Club?

No. I dont follow the power because i dont belive in changing who i support. I follow Bombers because i have since 1989 and will continue to follow them for the rest of my life. I don't follow the power for many reason's not just because they have teal. That has been a well know fact even from there first bid back in 90 that wouldn't be able to were just black and white in the AFL and the club accepted that.

All clubs care about their heritage that's why they are called 'alternative' guernseys meant to be worn OCCASIONALLY for the good of the game. What if every club was giving the AFL the 'bird' on this issue - they could all raise the exact same argument as CP pointed out. Sometimes for the good of the comp, the clubs need to bend a bit. That means all clubs, not most clubs with a couple standing outside because they think that they are above the comp they play in and their history is more important than everyone else's.

If all clubs did that it would be the way it was and there wouldn't be a problem like i said work for 111 years. so if anit broke why fix it, not my fault other clubs sold out for $$$

Clubs didnt sell out for $,they chose to help the game (more importantly the TV rights,as this is the biggest money spinner for the AFL) these clubs should be commended for not getting their collective heads stuck up their own arses thinking they are bigger than the game itself!
Note to Collingwood,Essendon,Richmond-GET OVER YOURSELVES!
You monkeys wanted a 'national comp',now you've got it,and you dont win it.If the hat fits.....
