ML...2-1...6-6...8-12... 9-17
PP...3-4...7-7...9-11....10-16
PICKETT , well the day he retires he wont be missed by me
A great talent wasted on his pre-occupation of hurting opposition players
UMPIRES
Would not pay ticky touch frees for the last quarter
PICKETT murders CORNES= no free kick
NEITZ pushes an opponent = free kick[ML goal disallowed with 2 minutes to go and the lead]
I feel like abandoning watching AFL footy these days
The new rules wheteher they are right or wrong is upsetting footy fo;;owers.
MOTLOP
Mr Magic kicks the winning goal for PP with a brilliant solo effort and that checkside goal
That will give him confidence after THAT last kick vrs SK last year
Like BRENNAN/ROE/FRANKLIN this guy has so much special talent and hopefully this is the goal that blossoms his career.
PP only win one quarter and win the game and are 5-1 what a year
ML 0-6 smashed by injuries and are better than that and definately not the worst team in the comp.

I am waiting for someone to raise the low-scoring debate again (10 goals to 9)
Mark Williams is a bit under-rated IMHO
5-1, great start

Good hard fought game, a DEElight to watch
21 goals
33 points
Would have been higher scoring but for poor kicking for goal

10 + 9 = 19 Mal
I agree it was a good game to watch, I was only trying to stir up Dutchy

I was at the Game watching it live and can tell u that the game was absolute SHITE!!!!!!!!
Pathetic kicking for goal made it worse in perfect conditions and if not for the closeness of the scores, i would have left
earlier and gone down the road to the Dome.
Watched part of the replay back at my motel room and it does look a better game on telly than it does live.
Both sides Flooded heavily and was made worse bcos of the high number of behinds kicked. Melbourne appeared to be handling
the flooding tactics better than Port but wasted countless opportunities with poor finishing efforts where as Port stayed in the game with flashes of Brilliance from their young stars. Overall it was a terrible game with the umpiring having NO bearing on the result as Both teams had ample opportunity to bury each other if they were good enough. Port were just lucky to be in front when the siren went.
