During Channel 10's telecast of the St Kilda v Western Bulldogs game saturday night, the commentators (Hudson & Quartermain) talked about Malcom Blight's 4 goal rule. Does anybody actually know what they are talking about?? What the heck is the 4 goal rule?

Blight has always believed as a coach,if the opposotion get 4 goals in front make some real changes as 5 or 6 in front and the game is gone.I have heard Malcolm talk about it repeatedly.

It used to be a three goal rule until he saw Carlton's comeback on the weekend LOL.

What about John Cahills 3 goal rule........If the opposition kicks 3 in a row, belt whoever you are standing and start a melee!
Love your work Jack!

Actually I always remember him referring to it as the 3-goal rule. Adjust the score if a team (usually the one trailing) kicks 3 goals in a hurry, then decide if it's a comfortable lead. Something to that affect anyway.

I think Grave Danger misunderstood the rule.
GD whacked whoever he was standing after 3 goals regardless who kicked them!
